$13.46 million investment in CareerTrackers to support more indigenous university graduates. 📣
Pleased to make this announcement in Brisbane today with CareerTrackers Indigenous Internship Program founder and CEO, Michael Combs, and Aurizon Managing Director and CEO, Andrew Harding.
As Mr Combs said, "This partnership with Government provides long-term certainty for our students and will play an important role in their success at university and in the workplace."
This investment also demonstrates how the Coalition Government’s Indigenous Advancement Strategy is cutting red tape for organisations and allowing them to focus on outcomes.

United Nations Development Programme in Kazakhstan in co-operation with the National Commission for Women, Family and Demographic Policy under the President of the Republic of Kazakhstan supported by the British Embassy in Kazakhstan organised a training seminar on 27-28 September in Borovoe for media representatives on promoting gender equality. As an outcome of the seminar, it is expected to create a pool of journalists specialising on gender matters.

The sunflowers added were added to highlight "The Sunflower", a book on the Holocaust by Simon Wiesenthal. In his book, he reminisces his experience with a terminally wounded Nazi. The book recounts Wiesenthal's experience in the Lemberg concentration camp and discusses the moral ethics of the matter. The title comes from Wiesenthal's observation of a German military cemetery, seeing a sunflower on each grave, and fearing his own placement in an un-marked, mass grave. Officers from our Rochdale Challenger Unit, which targets organised crime across the borough, were supported by district tasking teams and neighbourhood teams to execute a warrant in Rochdale Town Centre early this morning (Friday 14 November).
Upon entry to the address on Drake Street, Rochdale, officers discovered a large cannabis farm of over 400 plants across three floors of a former commercial property.
Officers were able to secure two arrests - one man in his 50s and one in his 20s - on suspicion of cultivating cannabis and abstracting electricity.
The building had been extensively modified across the floors for large-scale cannabis production and the plants were almost ready for harvest. Our officers have been able to prevent these drugs from being sold across Rochdale, ultimately protecting the public from retrieving it.
Detective Sergeant Gabe Gibson from GMP's Challenger Unit said: “The individuals behind this operation were brazen enough to set up a large-scale cannabis farm in the heart of Rochdale – but our specialist teams acted decisively to disrupt and dismantle it.
“Organised crime groups think they can operate with impunity, but we’re sending a clear message: we will find these setups and shut them down.
“The timing of our intervention , right before harvest, ensured that their investment in both equipment and labour was for nothing.
“We will always act on intelligence to protect the community from criminality which causes issues within the Rochdale area and beyond.”
