some life size displays at a mall

History:

When your parents are both supervillains a life of crime seems inevitable, and so was the case for Velocita. Capable of running at incredible speed, she saw the opportunity to commit crimes in Brickhaven as more of a game than with any real evil intent. She visits New Blok City every so often to cause some mischief when she gets bored. Her speed is on par with Kid Comet and a showdown is inevitable. She wears a special visor that protects her eyes from damage. Whatever this little miss of mischeif has planned, is anyone's guess.

History:

The tragic villain Doctor Toxin is a victim of his own success. Once a talented chemist, Dr. Perry Oddick found himself losing his sanity due to over exposure to his vaporous experiments. He soon adopted the persona Dr. Toxin and decided to fund his mad science with crime. Doctor Toxin uses a toxic blaster which can fire a corrosive acid or spray a mind altering fear vapor. He regularly clashes with the Crimson Cloak, and has been connected with the explosive chemical that destroyed the New Brickton Penitentiary. Doctor Toxin is no stranger to New Blok City either. His toxic chemicals may be responsible for the creation of a few of New Blok’s enhanced criminals, namely The Ooze. His influence and reach doesn’t stop there, as he seems to be an inspiration for villains across the globe.

History:

Ishiro Yakomodo was a "business" man whose skill and tactics vaulted him into the upper class of the residents of the Jade Island district. Owning various businesses including casinos, restaurants, and movie theaters, his multiple fronts were a good cover for his organized crime. Rivalry from other Yazuku crime syndicates resulted into a near fatal encounter. Using his great wealth and connections, he acquired the services to repair his body. Science and mystic healing combined with the use of lizard DNA saved Ishiro's life but the result was that the left side of his body looked hideous and reptilian. It also left him with enhanced strength and agility along with healing powers and hide like skin. Rather than self-loathing, Ishiro embraced his new fate and became even more dangerous than ever. He took the name KOMODO and now has control over the organized crime in the Jade Island district of New Blok City.

History:

Serena Blue had a quiet childhood. She was shy and reclusive around her peers. She had an extreme case of aquaphobia, which would become very ironic as she reached maturity. During an attempt to conquer her fears, she drowned in the Bricklyn Bay….or so she had thought. She was able to breath underwater, but the madness from the trauma overtook her and drove her insane. Serena was born with a mutation that further developed. She was able to transform her body into liquid, and retain her original shape. With this power, she can control water, creating powerful blasts to attack and form shields to protect herself. She is also able to breath underwater, drown people, create fog, and produce damaging Tsunamis. Her mutated genetics allow her to resist cold, gases and underwater pressure in addition to allowing her to swim at super speeds. Her abilities seem to be linked to the tidal phases and she can become stronger and quicker during high tide. Although her transformation has affected her physical appearance, the biggest change is her personality. She is now prone to violent mood swings and has shed her shy demeanor for an impetuous, overconfident bearing. She calls herself “Maelstrom” and is ready to release her fury upon all of New Blok City.

My submission for The New Paper's #batmanvsuperman art contest earlier this month, which unfortunately wasn't shortlisted. No biggie, rushed it out in 30 minutes anyway.

The point is, it's just one week to the release of this long-awaited clash of superheroes!

This is my "custom" Nightwing figure. All I really did was add the new Robin head, give him some more realistic hair, and give him the shorter lightsaber bars, but I think this one looks way better than the actual Lego one released a while ago.

Superman Celebration 2023

"Tonight on Channel 11 News, New Blok City's newest heroes unite. Hello and good evening, I'm Tom Bleyson. In recent months, New Blok has found itself in a state of shock. Crime has risen to staggering heights and the streets are more dangerous than ever. That was until New Blok's finest got a little help from these four individuals. They have been spotted throughout the city involved in rescues and stopping crimes for the past few weeks. Today, these four have joined together and have pledged their protection to New Blok City. While some are reluctant to accept help from vigilantes, most citizens are embracing their saviors. What will the citizens of New Blok City call this team that has vowed to protect them?"

History:

Ellie Dupleaux was a promising young law student who came to New Blok to further her career and take on the city’s criminal elements. Shortly into her promising career, she fell ill to a rare disease that left her disabled and was slowly killing her. An experimental treatment using gamma radiation and copper particles not only cured her, but left her with some unusual side effects. Her strength and stamina were magnified way beyond the average human. Her body could endure an incredible amount of physical punishment as well as resist acid. The biggest change was that her skin would take on a greenish hue when her adrenaline would kick in. Using the Statue of Liberty as the inspiration behind her beliefs, Miss Dupleaux has adopted the name Liberty as she fights crime with a more hands on approach. Most recently, she has developed the ability to communicate through telepathy and is able to detect when a living person is nearby. She can also use empathy, detecting lies and can feel the emotional state of those around her. Fearing her French accent will reveal her identity, she rarely speaks while in her heroic form. Regardless, Liberty is a beacon of justice determined to protect the well-being of New Blok’s citizens.

History:

Patriot X was the first individual to respond to the defense of New Blok during the recent mysterious events. Donning red, white, and blue powered armor, this hero has taken it upon himself to protect the innocent from the criminal elements within the city. The armor allows Patriot X enhanced strength, body armor, protection from EMPs, the ability to shoot energy blasts, flight, go undetected by radar and sonar, protects the senses, as well as being resistant to cold, corrosion, electricity, fire, and radiation. It isn’t unreasonable to expect more upgrades. The identity of Patriot X is unknown. He could be anything from a police officer to a businessman, but one thing is clear. Patriot X is determined to be a champion for the citizens of New Blok.

Superheroes are often as popular as celebrities, as influential as politicians, and sometimes even as revered as gods. But that's when they're using their powers for good. What happens when the heroes go rogue and start abusing their powers?

This MOC is a collaborative display made by Capt'ain Spaulding, LegoManiac and myself for the Fana'Briques 2012 exhibition in Rosheim (France).

This was the first time we joined the 3 parts together for a total display of 2,4m and 80 figs!

Thanks a lot to Nesta for drawing the background, and Will from www.brickheroes.com/ for sponsoring the printing.
