Mis primeras súper macro, estrenando el nuevo lente...espero les gusten.

Took the 500D & Supermacro'd it. I was literally pushing the beans on the housing heheh. Lighting made for a bad (poor) shot but it gives me ideas for when I have some spare photofuntime.

Finally I could try my new (used) Nikon microscope objective. The subject is a 7 mm long prepared Chrysidid wasp. I made shots from several views, this one is the first I show you. The objective was fixed on 170mm bellows, magnification is 11:1. 101 shots were taken in 0,01mm increments. Stacked in Zerene in PMax method, the processed stack was cropped to 4200px.

I'm so contented with the result, it will be certainly a commonly used tool in the future :)

My next work with the Nikon M Plan 10x microscope objective. The magnification is 8:1 in the full frame sensor. 138 shots stacked in Zerene Stacker. The picture shows a prepared specimen from my collection, it was collected two years ago. A photo of the living insect can be seen in my next post.

Not sure if this is the baby mantis or actually the tiny variety .... It looks like the big mantis however this one is so much smaller and the tail is curled.

It was shot in super macro mode.

The Canon PowerShot SX60 HS is the company's longest zoom camera, boasting a whopping 65X, 21-1365mm equivalent F3.4-6.5 lens. To help keep things steady with all that reach, the SX60's lens is stabilized. It has a traditional SLR-style body with a fully articulating LCD and electronic viewfinder.

Größe und/oder Gewicht: 12,8 x 9,3 x 11,4 cm ; 608 g

Image parameters:

•Contrast

•Sharpness

•Saturation

•Red/Green/Blue

•Skin tone

The SX60 HS is one of only two cameras in its class (specifically - long zooms with 1/2.3" sensors) to support Raw capture (the Fujifilm FinePix S1 being the other), which allows photographers to squeeze the maximum potential out of its images. The SX60 also shares another trait with its Fujifilm competitor: it sports a hot shoe - something rarely found in this class these days.

-

The camera uses a 16.1MP 1/2.3" CMOS sensor which is standard for this class. Images produced by the SX60 are well-exposed with vibrant color and pleasing sharpness. While you can improve image quality by shooting Raw, you'll need to put some time into post-processing. Image quality is quite limited to begin with because of the small sensor, but significantly better results can be eked from the SX60 HS if you're prepared to spend some time processing the Raw files.

In terms of performance, continuous shooting speeds range from 1.3 fps for Raw+JPEG to 6.1 fps for Super Fine JPEGs. In both cases the SX60 is able to fire away without slowing down (using a fast card, up to 8 fps).

Feature-wise the SX60 has plenty to offer for the point-and-shooter as well as full manual exposure controls for the enthusiast. The SX60 also has two tricks up its sleeve to make the long end of the zoom easier to use. One lets you 'back up' the lens so you can locate your subject, and the other will zoom in or out to keep your subject in the frame. As far as video is concerned, the SX60 records 1080/60p clips with manual exposure controls and a microphone input. The camera's Wi-Fi feature is basic but reliable.

The PowerShot G3 X is a premium superzoom with a 1"-type, 20MP BSI-CMOS sensor. This sensor, along with Canon's DIGIC 6 processor, permits an ISO range of 125-12800. The G3 X sports an F2.8-5.6, 24-600mm equivalent lens with 'Intelligent' image stabilization and its rugged body is sealed against dust and moisture. The autofocus system has 31 points and Canon claims a burst shooting speed of 5.9 fps.

The G3 X features a full suite of manual controls, including Raw support and a hot shoe, and there are numerous customizable controls, including the focus ring around the lens. The back of the camera features a tilting 3.2" LCD with 1.62M dots and touch functionality (an electronic viewfinder is optional). Video is recorded at 1080/60p with manual exposure control and mic and headphone jacks. As with most cameras these days, the G3 X also has built-in Wi-Fi with NFC.

This teeny flower is so small that I can never see, with the naked eye, whether an indiividual flower still has its petals. It's hard enough to find one of these tiny, thread-like plants as it is. This one did, but I'm sure I could have found a more photogenic one. However, I was kneeling in an undulating area of such deep, soft moss which made getting down and especially getting up again really difficult, so I couldn't face trying again. I guess you'd call this a supermacro, ha. If you only knew how many times I have tried to get even a half-decent photo of one of these flowers and almost always failed! Photographed at Brown-Lowery Provincial Park on July 8th.

This native plant belongs to the Saxifrage family, Saxifragaceae. It is also called Bare-stemmed Mitrewort, Bishop's Cap, Common Mitrewort, Miterwort, and Northern Bishop's Cap. There are 5-8 tiny flowers on the upper half of the slender, flowering stems, 7-20cm high. Each exquisite flower has 5 greenish-yellow or white, snow-flake design petals, with ten stamens, 6mm (just under quarter of an inch) across.

This species has the shortest eye stalk in the family of Diopsidae, but it's just enough for this close-up. Just imagine how "far" I could photograph it if it would have long stalks.

Photo made of a prepared fly from 101 shots @11:1 magnification with the JML 21/3.5 optical lens. 0,01mm increments between each photo, thus the whole depth of field is 1mm.

I've made a short test of 3 common and not really expensive microscope objective of the Nikon brand. The subject was the same parcel of a butterfly wing, the flatness left me take a non-deep focus stacking. The first objective is the CFI Plan 10x/0.25 ∞/-. The second is the BD Plan 10/0.25 210/0. The third is the M Plan 10/0.25 210/0.

You can see them with the adapters.

Note: the 67-52 is reversed on the photo, of course you cannot use it this way. The outer barrel on the M Plan has been removed forever.

The CFI Plan was fixed on a 70-200/4 telephoto zoom lens at 200mm, but the BD Plan and the M Plan were on a 180mm bellows, thus I got the same magnification.

The original pictures were cropped from 4368x2912px to 4200x2800px, so I lost the very small vignetting.

You will find below the 3 pictures, click on each one, you'll get a 2000px version. In this size all of them are nice for me, but there are small differents in original size which reveal in the 100% crops.

Was hoping to get reflections but got wind instead :) Still a Beautiful day~♥

Supermacro on new camera (Canon S3 IS) using photophool's CCRRFD. The lens is about a cm away from the stamen and shading it and preventing the flash from reaching it. So a cheap foam cereal bow around the lens diffuses the flash enough to light at such close distances.

Strobist info: This time I used a sony A6000 with a minolta 100mm macro (via adapter) + marumi achromatic lens. A minolta 5600HSD flash in manual mode. It was triggered by a JJC radio trigger. The light was channeled to the sides of the mini aquarium by optical fibers.
