Surprise!
Believe it or not, my lovebird couple Blu and Luce gave birth to two more children last September 17 and 18 2022 !
The previous ones were born just 5 months before, on April 16 and 18 this same year. The new little ones are almost identical: the female (here to the right) is a pale pistachio and the male (to the left) is electric green with a deep plum red head and breast.
Here, they were less than 3 weeks old and the photo is rather exceptional as it's one of the very first photos I took of them just out of their nest. They were very sleepy after having had their baby food :-) and their plumage not at all completed.
In this super macro, shot with my potent Fujinon lenses, they just have a beginning of feathers, the rest is a fluffy puff of thin plumes that will fall in the next few weeks to be replaced by their whole plumage.
They are the fruit of the deep love of Blu and Luce, an amazing couple, truly love birds who are full of continuous cares and attentions for each other and they kiss, caress, comb and even feed one another with devotion.
And... Guess what, she is beginning to be nervous because, probably, she wants her nest again, maybe for a new brood!
Supermacro shot with hyperzoom Fujinon lenses, in-door on a bed of little wild daisies, soft spot applied.

I was wandering around the garden this morning thinking how boring it is at the moment when I spied this little bug on a blade of grass. It looks like the same type of Harlequin bug that I posted a couple of weeks back but a much less iridescent colour. These are not cropped and were taken with my 75-300 mm and 50 mm lens and the Kenko extension tubes.
