An Orlando & Northwestern excursion train sits at Eustis. This was the last tourist operation to run on this section of the Florida Central lines and lasted from 2017 to 2020.

The museum showcases many items from the history of Bradford County. The Old Bradford County Courthouse (constructed in 1902) is a historic courthouse in Starke, Florida. It is located at 209 West Call Street, off U.S. Route 301. On December 27, 1974, it was added to the U.S. National Register of Historic Places. In 1976 the building became the Andrews Center campus of Santa Fe College. It also houses the Eugene L. Matthews Bradford County Historical Museum

The Flagler Beach Municipal Pier officially opened in 1928. The pier is one of the area’s most popular fishing spots. Open 6AM to 12 midnight year round, the pier is great for fishing and bird watching, and stretches out into the Atlantic Ocean 806 feet. There is a bait shop at the entrance of the pier for all your fishing needs as well as offering soft drinks and coffee.

EMD GP11 #312 leads the Sugar Express photo charter train west as we begin our return trip to Clewiston. This was part of a multi-day event across US Sugar trackage featuring ex-FEC steam engine #148. The last day of the trip had us go east to Lake Harbor on the FEC K Branch before returning to Clewiston. #312 was previously assigned to all Sugar Express trains, but the railroad has recently begun to use engines with the new green-and-yellow paint scheme.
A pair of P42DC engines lead Amtrak's southbound Silver Meteor into the station at Deland, Florida. The station signs still use the old "pointless arrow" Amtrak logo, which was replaced by the current logo in 2000.

Young had a vision of having lakes, golf courses, a luxury beach hotel, country clubs, and a main street, Hollywood Boulevard. After the 1926 Miami hurricane, Hollywood was severely damaged; local newspapers reported that Hollywood was second only to Miami in losses from the storm. Following upon Young's death in 1934, the city encountered more terrific hurricanes and not only that, but the stock market crashed with personal financial misfortunes. It felt as though the city was tumbling slowly piece by piece with all of those tragic events taking place.
Hollywood is a planned city. On Hollywood Boulevard is the Mediterranean-style Joseph Young Mansion, built around 1921, making it one of the oldest houses in Hollywood.

The original building was the first brick cigar factory constructed in Tampa in 1886. Vincent Martinez Ybor, its founder, constructed a model city surrounding the factory where the cigar workers resided. The factory was the focal point for the cigar workers who lived in the area called Ybor City. Ybor's building was the largest hand-rolled cigar complex which was typical of a distinct industry and era in the history of Florida. It was unique because it brought industrialization to a predominantly agrarian town. Large numbers of Latinos who worked in the factory were introduced into a white Anglo-Saxon based society. The success of the factory stimulated other cigar industries to move to Tampa, making Ybor City the cigar capital of the United States by 1900. In less than twenty years Tampa changed from a small port town to a thriving city. From the steps of the main factory building, Jose Marti, a Cuban patriot and martyr, rallied support for Cuban independence. After the Spanish-American War, these steps were removed to Cuba to become a National Shrine.

Kleman Plaza is an underground garage located northwest of the Capitol. Entrances are located on Duval Street and Bronough Street. The Eastside Parking Garage is located on Calhoun Street, and the entrance is on Calhoun Street. Cost information for city-owned parking facilities can found on the City of Tallahassee's website.
Visitor parking in the Capitol area is limited to either metered street spaces or designated lots. The City of Tallahassee manages two parking garages (Kleman Plaza and Eastside Parking Garage) and one surface lot (near Duval and Gaines). The Department of Management Services (DMS) manages two lots (Lot E and Lot 4). Spaces for visitors with disabilities are located on the west side of the House Office Building in the north side loading zone. There are more spaces located in the parking lot south of the Knott Building. If you're parking outside these lots in a non-metered spot, please ensure that the spot is marked for visitor parking. Cars parked in employee spaces will be towed.

The Lyric Theatre is an historic theater located at 59 South West Flagler Avenue near Confusion Corner in Stuart, Florida. The building fronts on its north side on South West Osceola Street. Built to serve as a movie house, it is now used primarily as a stage and music venue. Additions were made on the west side to provide back stage space for these new uses. The additions also face on both streets. On November 12, 1993, it was added to the U.S. National Register of Historic Places.

A pair of MP15s run a loaded cane train through one of the two dumpers at the Clewiston Sugar Mill. During the harvest, the plant operates 24/7. Once a loaded train arrives, the locomotive will uncouple from the consist and grab an empty set of cars to return to the sugar fields. A handful of MP15s are used at the yard to continuously push loaded cars through the dumpers, minimizing downtime.
This quaint lighthouse is the focus point the Estates of Fort Lauderdale mobile home park. It is situated at the Clubhouse, surrounded by a man made lake.
Last year, I spent New Year's Eve in Jacksonville, Florida, which held a spectacular fireworks show over the St. John's River. The western side of the city's riverfront provides a great view of the 1925 FEC drawbridge.
This quaint lighthouse is the focus point the Estates of Fort Lauderdale mobile home park. It is situated at the Clubhouse, surrounded by a man made lake.
From Ft De Soto County Park in Pinellas County, Florida. Just happened to be in the right place at the right time to catch this kiteboarder with the Sunshine Skyway in the background as she hit the apex of her jump.
Located on the ocean on a barrier island at city of Sunny Isles Beach and Collins Avenue, this park is the access point to the beach. The Newport Fishing Pier is open for fishing and walking. The lifeguard station is open at this park for swimmer’s safety during operational hours.

The Bridge of Lions is a double-leaf bascule bridge that spans the Intracoastal Waterway in the city of St. Augustine, Florida. A part of State Road A1A, the bridge connects downtown St. Augustine to Anastasia Island. A pair of Medici lions made of marble guard the bridge, begun in 1925 and completed in 1927 across Matanzas Bay. The lions were removed from the site in February 2005 and returned in March 2011.
Roads & Bridges magazine named the Bridge of Lions as fourth in the nation’s top 10 bridges for 2010. The projects were evaluated based on size, community impact and challenges resolved.
Anglin's Flishing Pier is the longest pier in South Florida. It is open 24/7 for fishing & featuring a cafe & occasional live music.
The Pier first opened on November 24 1963. It has been, and still is today, an important part of the City, Lauderdale by the Sea offering tourists and fishermen a Great Time. In 2006 the pier suffered damage from Hurricane Wilma and at that time the pier was only open halfway and lost what had been done from the last storm that had damaged it the year before that.
The Pier, as of the Fall of 2006 is open and operating 24 hours a day.
The new owners our happy to keep this Fishing pier going and will be bringing in new ideas and innovative concepts to better offer a unique and pleasurable experience for both the Fisherman and Sightseer. They have ideas for creating ocean viewing windows through the decking of the pier while you stroll. This would give the patrons the chance to look down and through the pier to see the many different sub-tropical and tropical fish that live around the pier in their habitat and also being witness to some unbelievable catches of which so many are in Awe.

The Columbia County Courthouse was built in 1905 and is an historic courthouse building located at 173 NE Hernando Avenue in Lake City, Florida. It was designed by noted architect Frank Pierce Milburn in the Classical Revival style of architecture. It was built with a dome and cupola, which were removed before 1989, but were restored in 2003 during a major renovation and expansion of the courthouse. In 1989, the Columbia County Courthouse was listed in A Guide to Florida's Historic Architecture, published by the University of Florida Press.

Lake City is the county seat of Columbia County, Florida, United States. As of the 2010 census, the city's population was 12,046. It is the principal city of the Lake City Micropolitan Statistical Area, which is composed of Columbia County, and had a 2010 population of 67,531.
Lake City first began as the town of Alligator in 1821 near the Seminole settlement known as Alligator Village. Alligator became the seat of Columbia County in 1832 when it was formed from Duval and Alachua counties. In 1858 Alligator was incorporated and renamed Lake City. The largest American Civil War battle in Florida took place near here in the Battle of Olustee in 1864; the Confederates won. In 1884 the Florida Agricultural College was established in Lake City as a land grant college; it was relocated to Gainesville in 1905 to form part of the University of Florida. The city's sesquicentennial was held in 2009.
Lake City is known as "The Gateway to Florida" because it is adjacent to the intersection of Interstate 75 and Interstate 10. Lake City is the site of Lake City Gateway Airport, formerly known as NAS Lake City. Florida Gateway College is located in Lake City.

This project for the Florida Department of Transportation, District 4, called for the construction of a new double-leaf bascule bridge across the Intracoastal Waterway, at Hallandale Beach, Florida. The phasing of the project called for the construction of a new westbound span north of the existing structure, removal of the existing structure, a shift of traffic and construction of the eastbound structure. The types of construction in the project included a bascule bridge, cast-in-place box girders, conventional AASHTO girders and reinforced earth walls.

The area that was to become West Palm Beach was settled in the late 1870s and 1880s by a few hundred settlers who called the vicinity "Lake Worth Country." These settlers were a diverse community from different parts of the United States and the world. They included founding families such at the Potters and the Lainharts, who would go on to become leading members of the business community in the fledgling city. The first white settlers in Palm Beach County lived around Lake Worth, then an enclosed freshwater lake, named for Colonel William Jenkins Worth, who had fought in the Second Seminole War in Florida in 1842. Most settlers engaged in the growing of tropical fruits and vegetables for shipment the north via Lake Worth and the Indian River. By 1890, the U.S. Census counted over 200 people settled along Lake Worth in the vicinity of what would become West Palm Beach. The area at this time also boasted a hotel, the "Cocoanut House", a church, and a post office. The city was platted by Henry Flagler as a community to house the servants working in the two grand hotels on the neighboring island of Palm Beach, across Lake Worth in 1893, coinciding with the arrival of the Florida East Coast railroad. Flagler paid two area settlers, Captain Porter and Louie Hillhouse, a combined sum of $45,000 for the original town site, stretching from Clear Lake to Lake Worth.
On November 5, 1894, 78 people met at the "Calaboose" (the first jail and police station located at Clematis St. and Poinsettia, now Dixie Hwy.) and passed the motion to incorporate the Town of West Palm Beach in what was then Dade County (now Miami-Dade County). This made West Palm Beach the first incorporated municipality in Dade County and in South Florida. The town council quickly addressed the building codes and the tents and shanties were replaced by brick, brick veneer, and stone buildings. The city grew steadily during the 1890s and the first two decades of the 20th century, most residents were engaged in the tourist industry and related services or winter vegetable market and tropical fruit trade. In 1909, Palm Beach County was formed by the Florida State Legislature and West Palm Beach became the county seat. In 1916, a new neo-classical courthouse was opened, which has been painstakingly restored back to its original condition, and is now used as the local history museum.
The city grew rapidly in the 1920s as part of the Florida land boom. The population of West Palm Beach quadrupled from 1920 to 1927, and all kinds of businesses and public services grew along with it. Many of the city's landmark structures and preserved neighborhoods were constructed during this period. Originally, Flagler intended for his Florida East Coast Railway to have its terminus in West Palm, but after the area experienced a deep freeze, he chose to extend the railroad to Miami instead.
The land boom was already faltering when city was devastated by the 1928 Okeechobee hurricane. The Depression years of the 1930s were a quiet time for the area, which saw slight population growth and property values lower than during the 1920s. The city only recovered with the onset of World War II, which saw the construction of Palm Beach Air Force Base, which brought thousands of military personnel to the city. The base was vital to the allied war effort, as it provided an excellent training facility and had unparalleled access to North Africa for a North American city. Also during World War II, German U-Boats sank dozens of merchant ships and oil tankers just off the coast of West Palm Beach. Nearby Palm Beach was under black out conditions to minimize night visibility to German U-boats.
The 1950s saw another boom in population, partly due to the return of many soldiers and airmen who had served in the vicinity during the war. Also, the advent of air conditioning encouraged growth, as year-round living in a tropical climate became more acceptable to northerners. West Palm Beach became the one of the nation's fastest growing metropolitan areas during the 1950s; the city's borders spread west of Military Trail and south to Lake Clarke Shores. However, many of the city's residents still lived within a narrow six-block wide strip from the south to north end. The neighborhoods were strictly segregated between White and African-American populations, a legacy that the city still struggles with today. The primary shopping district remained downtown, centered around Clematis Street.
In the 1960s, Palm Beach County's first enclosed shopping mall, the Palm Beach Mall, and an indoor arena were completed. These projects led to a brief revival for the city, but in the 1970s and 1980s crime continued to be a serious issue and suburban sprawl continued to drain resources and business away from the old downtown area. By the early 1990s there were very high vacancy rates downtown, and serious levels of urban blight.
Since the 1990s, developments such as CityPlace and the preservation and renovation of 1920s architecture in the nightlife hub of Clematis Street have seen a downtown resurgence in the entertainment and shopping district. The city has also placed emphasis on neighborhood development and revitalization, in historic districts such as Northwood, Flamingo Park, and El Cid. Some neighborhoods still struggle with blight and crime, as well as lowered property values caused by the Great Recession, which hit the region particularly hard. Since the recovery, multiple new developments have been completed. The Palm Beach Mall, located at the Interstate 95/Palm Beach Lakes Boulevard interchange became abandoned as downtown revitalized - the very mall that initiated the original abandonment of the downtown. The mall was then redeveloped into the Palm Beach Fashion Outlets in February 2014. A station for All Aboard Florida, a high-speed passenger rail service serving Miami, Fort Lauderdale, West Palm Beach, and Orlando, is under construction as of July 2015.

The Anastasia Formation extends for 2 miles north along the shoreline with cliffs up to 15 feet high at the House of Refuge. Looking south from the end of the boardwalk, Bathtub Reef is visible.
Immediately ahead is an outcrop with small burrows, aminated crusts, solution pipes, a notch and an abrasion platform, and a mass of collapsed rock. Moving north along the beach moving toward the House of Refuge, there are several outcrops with conspicuous notches.
At the House of Refuge are prominent planar bedding, many fossils (including Busycon), small and large burrows, thick laminated calcium carbonate crusts, lithified infillings, solution pipes, notched cliffs, promontories and small coves, and many large masses of collapsed bedrock.
