St. Francis Inn, historic St.Augustine. Fantastic inn with the most hospitable staff,

and a breakfast to die for

These rainbow lorrikettes never stop chirping when they eat,The more birds the louder they become, But its a sound you never get tired of hearing..And as always my friends, Thanks for all your comments and faves..

The day after Thanksgiving was incredibly beautiful here in Florida’s Tampa Bay area. We had a mix of glorious sunshine and puffy white clouds, my favorite. The humidity was rather low and the temperature was in the mid seventy’s. The day was most definitely a top ten day in my book.

After dropping family members off at the airport and wishing them a safe and uneventful journey home, it was time to visit Busch Gardens. After all the day was splendid and taking photos at Busch Gardens is always a pleasure. You never know who, if anyone will be alert and cooperative.

The photo goal of the day was to snap a lion a tiger and an elephant. Whom shall I visit first I pondered? Will it be the lions in the edge of Africa habitat or the Tigers in the Jungala habitat? They are on opposite sides of the park and the elephants are in between. Alas, I opted for the lions.

While meandering through the park towards the edge of Africa, I was enjoying the kiss of the sun on my skin as a light cool breeze occasionally whispered through the air. Could this day get any better?

Yes! Upon reaching the lion’s habitat, I found that I had made the right choice and it was indeed a lucky day. The lions were awake and alert. The ladies were in view towards the back of the habitat, I didn’t photograph them because the fence was obstructing the view for photos.

However, the King was towards the front of the habitat poised in the shade of a tree. There was absolutely nothing obstructing my view. He is certainly a beautiful model and he gave me several terrific poses before it was time for me to move on. Time for me to move on, really? I could stare at him all day but I know others desire a nice look at him too. So it was only fair for me to move on and allow others to gaze into his magnicifent eyes.

After this image, it’s back to my backyard beauties. I’ve taken a few images that I need to review when I get time. More company is coming today :) And yes, I will most likely post a random image of the King now and again from this set. He’s just too beautiful not to share.

Have a wonderful day, happy snapping.

This pier was rebuilt recently. The Gulf Stream current comes right to Lake Worth Beach, bringing species you don’t typically find close to shore right into the surf.

It's the first place an angler caught a sailfish from land. When the northwest winds blow in winter, a few diehard anglers launch live baits clipped to kites and fly the baits out to deeper water.

This pier is also a legendary snook fishing spot. Plenty of pompano, cobia and snappers are caught as well. You can rent tackle and buy bait right there as well.

The hurricane seasons of 2004 and 2005, were especially damaging for Lake Worth. The fishing pier was smashed by 3 storms: Hurricanes Frances, Jeanne and Wilma. The pier reopened in 2009 and self funds with modest entry fees for sightseers ($1.00) and fisherman ($3.00). The rebuilt pier has been raised 5 feet. The surfing in Lake Worth is consistently good, as a result of the sandbars created by the pier.

Situated on this pier is a restaurant called Benny's on the Beach, established in 1986, Benny's on the Beach has been a staple of Lake Worth Beach and continues its great reputation as of today.

Benny's features the best breakfast in Palm Beach County. Conveniently located right on the pier of Lake Worth, Benny's on The Beach offers not only amazing food but the one of the nicest views in all of South Florida. Known for the delicious french toast, pancakes, and eggs benedict, Some of their best sellers include Nutty Almond french toast, Stuffed Red Raspberry french toast, Lobster benedict, as well as our humongous three egg omelets.

Benny's also serves up an amazing lunch with some of the freshest seafood around. Appetizers include our world famous Calamari, Garlic Steamed Clams, and our delicious Mussels served in a creamy garlic sauce that is sure to keep you coming for more. Benny's also serves the best gyro pita, burgers, salads, and fresh seafood.

Established in 1986, Benny's on the Beach has been a staple of Lake Worth and continues its great reputation for 27 years and counting

Stuart is a city in and county seat of Martin County, Florida, the United States. Located on Florida's Treasure Coast, Stuart is the largest of four incorporated municipalities in Martin County. The population was 15,593 in the 2010 census. It is part of the Port St. Lucie, Florida Metropolitan Statistical Area.

Stuart is frequently cited as one of the best small towns to visit in the US, in large part because of Stuart's proximity to the St. Lucie River and Indian River Lagoon.

When Stuart was incorporated as a town in 1914, it was located in Palm Beach County. In 1925, Stuart was chartered as a city and named the county seat of the newly created Martin County.

The city of Stuart is known as the Sailfish Capital of the World, because of the many sailfish found in the ocean off Martin County.

March is certainly a nice month to spend time in the garden. The weather is gorgeous with plenty of sunshine and a lovely breeze. The temperatures have been in the 80's for the last few days. Although, we did hit 91 a couple of days ago. No complaints from me, I like it hot!

As the butterflies increase in numbers my little migratory visitors have mostly packed up and headed north. The yard was crazy busy yesterday morning. However, it looks like the pine warblers, palm warblers and others were fueling up with a hearty breakfast, so they could get a great start for their journey. During the afternoon and evening, there were only a couple of warblers visiting.

The yard is certainly not quiet at this time. Felix and Kitty plus one (catbirds) are still here as of this morning. Other than that it looks like mostly local residents. The cardinals are working on a nest. The wrens have fledglings. I believe that the Tufted titmice have fledglings but they are keeping them well hidden at the moment. Dunbar (Northern Mockingbird) may also have a fledgling or two. It's difficult to tell who is who, but there are three mockingbirds hanging about.

Jay and Jane (blue jays) have been visiting more often. I have not seen Phil for a while but Philomena is visiting daily. The Downey's (Robert and Susan) are visiting but they usually stick to the oak trees or the understory of oak three. I don't see them much unless I am out by the pond.

Elvis (Red-shouldered hawk) stops in now and again but if I am out, he mostly does a fly-by. If he's here and I go out he usually says bye-bye, camera or no camera.

One would think that the Gerberas would hold still. However, with the breezy weather even they want to sway. As you can see the one on the left is a bit twisted.

Time to get busy on this terrific Tuesday. Caterpillars in protective custody need to be fed. Enjoy your day and happy snapping.

One of many birds in Animal Kingdom. Not an expert on bird species but I'm hoping I am right with this one. This bird is known to make its home in the gulf states.

The Anastasia Formation extends for 2 miles north along the shoreline with cliffs up to 15 feet high at the House of Refuge. Looking south from the end of the boardwalk, Bathtub Reef is visible.

Immediately ahead is an outcrop with small burrows, aminated crusts, solution pipes, a notch and an abrasion platform, and a mass of collapsed rock. Moving north along the beach moving toward the House of Refuge, there are several outcrops with conspicuous notches.

At the House of Refuge are prominent planar bedding, many fossils (including Busycon), small and large burrows, thick laminated calcium carbonate crusts, lithified infillings, solution pipes, notched cliffs, promontories and small coves, and many large masses of collapsed bedrock.

It lies about 51 miles (82.1 km) northeast of Orlando, 86 miles (138.4 km) southeast of Jacksonville, and 242 miles (389.5 km) northwest of Miami. In the 2010 U.S. Census, it had a population of 61,005. It is a principal city of the Deltona–Daytona Beach–Ormond Beach, FL metropolitan statistical area, which was home to 590,289 people in 2010. Daytona Beach is also a principal city of the Fun Coast region of Florida.

The city is historically known for its beach where the hard-packed sand allows motorized vehicles to drive on the beach in restricted areas. This hard-packed sand made Daytona Beach a mecca for motorsports, and the old Daytona Beach Road Course hosted races for over 50 years. This was replaced in 1959 by Daytona International Speedway. The city is also the headquarters for NASCAR.

Daytona Beach hosts large groups of out-of-towners that descend upon the city for various events, notably Speedweeks in early February when over 200,000 NASCAR fans come to attend the season-opening Daytona 500. Other events include the NASCAR Coke Zero 400 race in July, Bike Week in early March, Biketoberfest in late October, and the 24 Hours of Daytona endurance race in January.
