It took 723 steps to catch the perfect view of the sunset from Mount Tapyas. After more than ten years of not visiting Coron, I knew I am finally home away from home! Have a great weekend , my dear friends!

Photographed at golden hour from Maihama Coast Boardwalk (浦安海岸舞浜地区遊歩道), this sunset scene frames Mt. Fuji behind Tokyo Gate Bridge. The fiery orange sky lit up Tokyo Bay as the sun dropped behind the mountains. A rare alignment of Tokyo’s modern skyline and Japan’s most iconic peak.

I always wonder how trees can stay up at all when they get into leaning this far over. They are big trees and their roots are probably really deep in the ground, but still..........

Shot this at the Fox River in Geneva, Illinois, from the Mill Race Inn parking lot. Everytime I am out there, I drive through that lot hoping to catch a good shot. Last night, just before the sun got too low to reflect at all on this water, I believe I caught a good moment...lol. I think the windchill was about 100 below zero at this time, too. Well, not that cold, but sure felt that way. What a wicked winter we are having, eh? Its going to warm up though. it will be near 40F by the end of the week! Break out the volleyballs, beers, and grills....lol.

Channahon Parkway State Park, Channahon, Illinois. Like most forest preserves, they close off half the roads so they dont have to plow, so, I had to park at the top of the hill behind me. Wasnt so bad hiking down to this location and I was pleased to find this spot with the water flowing, the snow on the ground, the sun setting, BUT, when I got the shots I wanted, I had to hike uphill, in that snow, back to my car.

The temperature when I shot this was 16F.

And, I didnt really get the shots I wanted. The sun needed to be much more "set" than this, but I didnt want to be hiking back to the car in the dark. It feels so good to be home where it is warm. Tomorrow is another day though. *grin*.

Took a drive into the sunset tonight. Shot this just east of Shabbona, Illinois on Rt. 30.
