July nights of summer Rodeos in Cody Wyoming. The dust and light with blessings of golden rays washing the grand stands, those that came to watch the sport and those that came to brave the ride on the back or world-class broncos.
I doubt that many saw the sunset painting the land as they found their seats and waited for the horses and the riders to enter the ring for that timeless sport that comes from the art of breaking broncos. The will of the rider against the will of the bronco, fighting to resist the taming of its wild spirit.
With the iconic sport soon to begin, as the sun nears the end of its trip across the Wyoming sky.

Taken around False Creek just before sunset during a photo walk around Vancouver, BC. It made for some fantastic light reflections on the city skyline. Kept pulling my camera back out of my backpack.

I found out today that this image will be part of a feature on the John Muir trail in the November 2010 issue of Backpacker Magazine. Very cool!
As the sun sets in the far horizon, an old machine full of spirit makes it's run back home.
This is the color version of my previous HDR photo with the same title, hence the II in the name, this has been a wallpaper on my monitor for a few weeks now. I really love how it came out.

Down the hill from the cottage again - taking WAY too many shots of a Sunset, again, when I hear someone whistling and lookup to see this guy paddling in front of me. Thought the scene was going to be ruined, but decided to hang out a little longer - glad I did.
