Prague hams cooking at the winter market. They are sooooo good; I had the ham every day.

After the Velvet Revolution in 1989 Prague started to adopt more and more of the Western and American life style. This cannot only be seen in the architecture and amenities of the new buildings but also in the food industry. Of course, many of the dishes cooked and served nowadays at the food stands existed before too, just that they were not sold on the street.
The irresistible and delicious aromas of the street vendors grilling and roasting meats or frying cheese, especially at the Christmas Markets, will totally charm your nose and it would really be a shame not to try the barbecue roast ham (Sunka), the grilled sausages (Klobasy) served with dark bread and mustard, the traditional Czech Bramborak with its plain round shape that looks like a schnitzel but is made out of potatoes and other secret ingredients or the Fried Cheese in a bun (Smazeny Syr).

V jedne restauraci meli jako predkrm "Ceske rolky". Jelikoz jsem o tom nikdy neslysel, tak jsem si to dal. Byla to tlusta sunka plnena vlasakem.
