Swans at sunset at Mudeford Quay, Dorset, UK

Clicked on 29th September 2014 during my first Goa visit and this one was among the first few long exposure shots I had with my Hoya ND 400 (9 stop). It was cloudy, rainy during sunset. I had to wait and wait for almost 30 minutes. Drizzling stopped suddenly and then the lights came out magically for 10-15 minutes. Thank God, I could click a few shots before it again started pouring.

Love this Beach. Will visit again

(Just a small NOTE to all my amateur photographer friends- While Shooting with ND filter of this magnitude, the camera live view screen becomes completely Blank and Black and you cant able to see anything material through your view finder. That's an amazing experience though as you need to adjust everything manually including the damn exposure :) :) )

Sunset skies over Clatteringshaws Loch in the Galloway Forest. I decided after watching the weather forecast, that it seemed the only place for a possible sunset was around the Galloway Forest, which looked as if it was having a 3 or 4 hour window of sunshine before sunset, then heavy rain coming in. When sunset came, with heavy clouds coming in behind, it created this stunning sky.

I mainly got my camera out to photograph the sunsets on holiday so here's another one!

If you view large you can spot the wave - I can't post the link as copy and paste seems to have gone AWOL on my mac. Restarting Firefox hasn't helped and it doesn't work in Safari either. If anyone knows a fix I'd be love to hear it.

Black Skimmer (Rynchops niger) - Tarpon Springs, Florida

As the sun began to set, I was treated to this skimmer coming in close to my position. It angled toward me and before long was busting out of the frame. It was really wonderful to see that beak glide quietly along the water.

Of interest about this shot(to me) is that it's one of the most 'interesting' of the initial ~2000 shots i took with the Canon G6, prior even to having a dSLR! I was still in my change-over mode from mostly video. Canon G6 / PSE 5 with .raw photos was able to do quite a good job with sunsets.

Tonight a thunderstorm was over the salt lake in San Luis and created a very dramatic light. It got to dangerous to stay on the lake as the lightning started. But I have some very nice photos. Nice to meet Pedro Teurel and Jeronimo Contreras to share this magic evening.

Sunset of Salalah. While going back to UAE, we saw this spot on just after crossing Salalah check post and its really unrealistic clouds and colors. Choose the viewing doc corner as my foreground and used 4 image exposure to make this HDR.
