Sunset at Sabkhet Arina, a small salt lake in Tunis, Tunisia. For 118 pictures in 2018, #04, "A Sense of Calm", a sunset over a calm body of water is very calming. This is looking almost 90 degrees south of the actual sun.
Beautiful sunset on our way back by boat from Oslo to Kiel.
I'm so very glad I was able to view this whole sunset at sea, because I've never seen it before. We were lucky the weather was that nice.

Adult Skimmers in their Winter Plumage - eyes are in the
black. These birds are LARGE with outstretched wings! The
black skimmer is the largest of the three skimmer species
The remarkable bill of the Black Skimmer sets it apart from all other American birds. The large red and black bill is knife-thin and the lower mandible is longer than the upper. The Black Skimmer has one of the most unusual foraging styles of any North American bird. A feeding skimmer flies low over the water with its bill open and its lower mandible slicing the surface. When the mandible touches a fish, the upper bill snaps down instantly to catch it. Amazing seabird!
