Queer as it may sound, the Big Island of Hawaii isn't best known for the picture perfect sunsets that adorns many a Hawaiian postcard. A marine layer envelopes the horizon at either end of the day and this often results in muted sunsets.
Even though I hadn't planned to photograph in the evening this photograph was made, the conditions looked promising enough for me to take a chance. As luck would have it, the setting sun was visible above the marine layer just a few minutes before sunset. Some of the low hanging clouds were set ablaze by the angled light.
I positioned myself to use the waters of the bay as a reflection pool for the crimson & gold colors of the evening's last light.
This photograph was made along the Waikoloa coast in Big Island, Hawaii.

Out on a Sunsetshoot with my friend. It was Low tide at Katwijk beach. The nice Puddles and shapes in the sand attracted my attention.
