Sunset and vacation time

Taken off my deck tonight. I've been with the flu for days now and it has been raining for days so about ten minutes before sunset this is what happened!

So, I felt like performing a photoshop experiment today; to see whether I could crop the Calgary skyline from one shot I had taken and paste it over a vivid sky-only sunset shot I had taken, and this upload was the result.

The skyline and grass and tree area below was cropped from my Skyline Sunset photo from early January of this year and merged into my Smoldering Skyscape photo from around the same time.

I think the result is very cool and beautiful and plan to experiment more with this technique!

I would love to know what you all think of my photo merging experiment!

I was about a week in Louisiana, where I've never seen such a fascinating landscape as there. Every night I stood on the shore and had a look at the sunset in the bayous. This photo is still one of my favorites. I printed it out 1:50 x 2.00m and it´s amazing!

We shot a sunset from Morton Overlook off Hwy 441 in what I considered pretty challenging conditions for me...

I went for a walk after dinner and photographed the sky reflected in this pond not very far from my home. Beauty is all around us - we have an obligation to notice, capture and share it with others.

Sunset earlier this week in the Eastern Sierra..

I've been missing Morecambe sunsets. The seemingly endless cloud and rain since last summer had made them a forgotten dream. I was teased with half a sunset last night but tonight was treated to the 'Full Monty', glassy seas and painted skies.

Pamukkale, Turkey famous for its its white calcium mountain also has some wonderful sunsets to capture.

I sadly went to the funeral today of a lovely man who was struck down way too early with the insidious Motor Neurone Disease. Paul you are now free of pain, may you rest in peace. xx This cracker of a sunset
