Probably the highlight for my storm chase season while touring nine people around the central plains in search of significant weather.
It took a lot to reach this supercell. I had to drive through two hail cores, and was stuck behind a big rig on a winding country road for what seemed to be eternity.
This was the payoff.
This magnificent sunset over the Ladybower reservoir completely stole the show on our recent trip to Derbyshire.

A light snowfall placed just the right amount of snow to make the trail interesting - and hide the icy sections...
Another very warm 22C day which gave great sunset as it shimmered under the low mist..
Also been nearly full 1 month without any real rainfall.

....the smoke certainly added a bit of drama to the sunset yesterday evening. This was taken near the school where the students had to be evacuated when the fires came too close for comfort. The firefighters are working tirelessly containing outbreaks that are happening around the area and the warm, windy conditions haven't helped.
Thanks for all visits, comments & Favs!
I would be greatful if you follow me in flickr.
Have a nice day!

This sunset was probably the best I have ever witnessed on Guntersville. This lake is a spectacular lake, which covers a large area and combines with the Tennessee River. It has many areas of interest, coves and little marina's. We spent the about two hours watching this particular sunset unfold. It was breathtaking. The sky changed dramatically, always a real treat for any photographer.
Sunset prospects looked promising, so I drove to the reservoirs. Not much cloud, but plenty of contrails, that were spreading rapidly, and by the time the sun reached the horizon marked the sky interestingly.
I suppose these could be improved by some PP, but I'm afraid I didn't bother (resize only). I did bracket the shot, but in both these I've used the normal exposure. I think I like the vertical shot best, but flickr seems unkind to those.
