Just popped into the house to make a cup of tea. Actually, I was lucky to get a short window in the weather, shortly after taking this photo the sky clouded over and there was a spell of heavy rain.

Today, I took some pictures with my beloved Tilley hat. I love it! Just can't wait to wear it on the beach! I'm goind one week in Cape Cod in July. Yay!

So, what's new this week... we ordered our wedding rings, we signed some papers because we are finally get our new condo keys (after 5 years of construction), and there was a heat wave so I stayed in all week... Can't live without my AC.

How I would have loved to have been wearing that headgear. It was such a hot day in Saltburn-by-the-sea, North Yorkshire and I had left my cap at home and suntan lotion had to do.

Mustafah wears kohl around his eyes. Kohl, made of lead sulphide, is an ancient cosmetic used in the middle east & north africa by both males & females. Its use dates back at least 3000 years. For the Bedouin tribes of the desert it served as protection from the harsh rays of the sun. Mustafah was in the square at Douz, gateway to the sahara. He spoke a little English & seemed familiar to me, like I had met him somewhere in western society. Face open & vulnerable.
