We saw numerous purple ribbons on the southern leg of our journey. I could see three from where I was standing as I took this photo, while pumping gas in Ellisville, Mississippi.
We couldn't figure out what the ribbons represented. Wikipedia lists over thirty possible causes. Perhaps they're intended as a show of support for Pat Summitt who is battling Alzheimer's.
In any event, this is the final photo of our vacation. Hope you've enjoyed re-living the trip as much as we enjoyed making it.
The Bart Everson memorial plaque is in this alley between the Allen Building and the Trojan Horse. Unfortunately a gate has been installed and it is usually locked. However, you can unlock it if you're very clever and resourceful. I can't recommend that of course but it is the only way to see the plaque.
