Organic leeks this summer.

I used to think that leeks were a bit boring and only used them cooked in soups and other hot dishes.

But that was before I started growing my own organic ones.

The difference in taste is huge.

Homegrown organic leeks are delicious and I enjoy them raw in salads.

The landlord has allowed a couple of tenants to use a part of the shared lawn in front of the apartment building for gardening.

This is one of the two mini gardens there.

This is the second of three variants of Clematis in my garden and the deepest in colour.

This method of harvesting celery increases the yield of it dramatically.

You harvest the biggest, oldest sticks and let the rest of the plant continue growing.

It will then continue to produce more and more celery until winter.

Have you ever seen a pretty flower and said--oh I wish a butterfly would land there?-----try it :)Hope everyone has a great weekend----thanks for stopping by!

The little makeshift container garden in July.

This July has been unusually hot for our part of the world.

We've had 30+C for most of the month and no rain and the garden needed a lot of watering every day.

A curious feline visiting the little garden one summer day and enjoying a drink from the water bucket.

The garden gets many such visits from feline neighbours during summer and unlike this one they don't always behave themselves...

There's been some damages sometimes...

But all is forgiven. :-)

.... by caterpillars.

They've completely destroyed my brassicas.

Well, at least they're artistic...

I like the detail of the Fern and he must have as well as hen seemed quite happy there.

Happy birthday Flickrology!

Summer magic.

Tears go by.

These are Honeysuckle leaves. there were lots of hoverflies doing the same thing, I assumed they were getting a drink from the rain on the leaves but when I looked closer they were not. I've no idea what they were getting.

Beautiful view from a scary bridge.

This summer has been passing so quickly.

The participants have agreed that they were very pleased with their collective contribution to the summer mischief program this year.

Digging up plant containers and using them as toilets proved effective for limiting the amount of cultivated plants and preventing them from taking over the weeds.

Another reliable method for the vegetable plants control is lying down on young transplants and using the container as bed.

Not only does it flatten the plants but also, if you do some energetic rolling in them, you may even be lucky enough to break some of them.

Frequent loud arguments in hedges have provided a decent amount of noice to this otherwise too quiet neighbourhood this summer.

Finally took the time to set up and photograph this cutie ♥️

I was thinking to myself before i take picture, do i need her? Should i sell her? Because i'm having a Poppys overload, but after i've done this shoot, she's staying. So cute and reminded me of Trés Chic Boutique ( who i stupidly sold ) and Pillow Talk all combine 💙

Cherry tomatoes, cucumber and parsley.

I had to pick the tomatoes mostly green because there's been so much rain here this summer that they split.

Tomatoes don't like much rain.

Living sunflower fence between the garden and the public walkway.

Birds and insects loved it and added more life to it, buzzing around.

New tiny plants are growing inside a fallen tree.

Organic cabbage in August, just starting to head up.

Vane me ha prestado su Sabrina, mientras la mía sigue en camino, pero así me evito repetir la foto cuando llegue...

Like most of the other vegetables beets have also been struggling this summer but in the end they managed to produce a decent harvest.

I've given away most of my beet crop to the neighbours this year and left just a few for myself.

Enough for modest amount of homemade beet soup.

Cucurbits family - various summer squashes and cucumber.

This has been an awful growing season because of dreadful summer weather this year but there's been some veggies to harvest now and then.

Just not as much as in previous years.

The 3 types of summer squash I grew in the garden last summer.

From left: zucchini (green), Emperol and yellow squash.

They're all very good.
