My reliable bougainvilleas which faithfully burst out with beautiful pink bracts every summer decide to take a break this year. Have done nothing different and no clue what's happening. Suggestions welcome.

On my drive home, I crossed this river and saw the beautiful light. So I set up tripod again and took the photo.
It has been very hot in the Brandenburg region for weeks, and photography at nightfall near water is a challenge because of the mosquitoes. But the beautiful light last night was well worth the effort.
This is lake Blankensee in the Nuthe-Nieplitz nature park, with its reed belt it's home to many birds and waterbirds . Due to the heat we had, there is an unusual amount of algae on the water.
Last week just after sunset on the Moselle.
In the picture the wine-growing community Lieser near Bernkastel-Kues with the newly renovated Castle Lieser, which now open as first class hotel.

From one of the last days of August by the lake. A very local mist appeared and only lasted for a short while before it disappeard, and I was lucky to be there in that moment.
Some photos bring back such fond memories. This one brings back warm summer evenings sitting in the meadow with my dogs and just enjoying the most simple things in life. It also evokes a certain fear. Fear for my grandkids. Fear of wondering if this will be available for them and for their children long after I am gone.
