We had a nice turn out for my pre-birthday sub-zero party. We made the ghetto version of a anti-griddle using a $5 block of dry ice and a metal tray. The tray quickly drops to a very cold temperature near -80C after being placed on the dry ice. There is a initial nails on chalkboard audible racket. I'm not sure if it's the metal contracting or just the sounds of dry ice scratching the metal. We flash froze different ingredients into popsicles. We found a few recipes that worked pretty well. These are the favorites. I'm looking forward to trying this again on a hot summer day.
honey + lime chipotle
blood orange + cream + honey
balsalmic vinegar + vanilla + cream chocolate ganache
kashi cereal adds a nice puffed crunchy texture
pretzels sticks can be used in place of popsicle sticks for handles
I shot 854 images of the sun rising on this farm. Mostly, I just set up the camera and waited in the warm truck while the camera shot the pictures. Decisive Moment? When the Texas boy dragged hisself out of bed on a subzero wind chill day the day after a 24 hour bug to try to get a sunrise image of this farm while it was covered in snow. As it happens, the three photos in this bracket sequence are the only ones with this framing. Oh yeah, while I was there, some other folks showed up, took a couple of photos, and left.
Corpus Callosum is finely-crafted songs and obsessively-arranged music, paired with experimental puppetry, installation and performance-art. Self-produced with a DIY spirit, this ensemble manufactures wonderment with quality musicianship and understated magicianship.

Have been under the weather for the last few days so ol Deb and Ellie have been out in the weather taking pictures and doing my chores for me... Liked this view she took of the Homesteader #12 cabin looking to the southeast as the sun came up... Course you all know that work at the Elephant Head Lodge goes on everyday from sunup to sundown... however.... living in a mountain canyon means the sun comes up around 10am and sets around 2pm...

Second Life holiday parties was an incredible mix of trance, dnb, electronica, dark psy, goa, minimal, proggy, acid, experimental, industrial, noize, tribal, jazz, live music, country, blues, reggae, salsa, classical, opera, and Christmas music. I heard it all and then some.
I love music of all kinds. If it's good, it's worth listening to, so don't start with the nose-up-in-the-air over your favorite genre. Believe me... good music will always find an audience. An audience of sophisticated listeners will stop to listen to any good sound... even if it isn't part of your normal repertoire.
What is amazing is that dj's and musicians around the world know this, and they borrow from all genres to create their own personal sounds.
Here in Second Life, we get the results from around the world. World music mixes with the trendy sounds of the day, and we get the sounds that we love so much.
I want to thank all the dj's, musicians, club owners and event makers in SL. You guys made a holiday scene like no other. APPLAUSE & BRAVO ::::
Special thanks to you <3:

"We use video goggles and cameras to move your sense of sight out of your body and into a third person point of view that's looking back at yourself. Your visual perspective has a lot of influence over how your mind fabricates your own sense of self. In this fractured sensory state you'll have the opportunity to sample a handful of activities and games that accentuate the balance between your eyesight and your other embodied senses. The goal is to relocate your sense of self out of your body."
