i needed to replace the alternator in my car, and my friend Chris Carder was nice enough to come "help" me...as in he did all the work and i took photos. =)

Refugio Rd in pretty good shape. Much better than the unmaintained west Camino Cielo that we gave up on earlier (the car was too new to tempt it). Santa Barbara County,11/04.

Subaru Outback ad. Petra and Matthew both asleep. I was stopping fairly often, just in case Matthew got carsick. Getting some good use out of our AWD. You didn't really need it, but the car felt nice and secure. Nice to have some additional clearance, too. The Outback has 8in. We got decent gas mileage. 28mpg, even though I was in 1st and 2nd gear the whole way. I kept the rpm's down.

What's under the Subaru..I see the concrete is cracked just like a river, and in my mind, I can see the eddys, flows, hydros, turns, twists and some trees down river, (LOL) (Kayakers dreams).
