A Macro Mondays submission on the topic "Styling Food on a Fork".
I guess peas are not very stylish, but I wanted the capture the steam, which was harder than it looked. It needed strong backlighting, the pea cooled quickly and the steam kept fogging up the lens!
Quick made and delicious salad from "pink beets" for warm summer days, also tasty as a barbecue. I love the salad with apples and walnuts.

A much-loved kid's fork, that came with a set of connectable knife, fork, and spoon, is still used today.
Happy Summer. Smile for the sunshine. It's finally here!

TRAPPER THE HEART.
THE END OF THE SHRIMP.
This macro wants to be provocative and to provoke a reflection on a pivotal theme of many animalists: "I don't eat meat because I know how animals are treated for slaughter".
This poor shrimp has a very sad expression, not at all happy to have been impaled by my fork !!!
I specify that the crustacean protagonist of my macro I bought frozen in a supermarket and then dead and long dead.
I eat meat and vegetables in a balanced way, and even fish is part of my diet and if I had to think about how most living things that end up on my plate go, I would certainly die of hunger.

Nyger (Guizotia abyssinica) seeds on a plastic fork. Also spelled Nyjer, Niger, Nijer.
The seed, technically a fruit called an achene, is often sold as birdseed as it is a favourite of finches, especially the goldfinch and the greenfinch. In the birdseed market, niger is often sold or referred to as thistle seed. This is a misnomer resulting from early marketing of the seed as "thistle" to take advantage of the finches' preference for thistle.
The Wild Bird Feeding Industry (WBFI) has trademarked the name Nyjer "... to eliminate product confusion and the offensive mispronunciation of Niger as well as to promote a positive image for the use of 'Guizotia abyssinica' as a wild bird feed."

Cette tranche de Concombre devrait suffire pour un repas très très très léger. Cela n'empêche que je me suis régalé comme à chaque fois que je prends une photo macro sur le thème Styming Food on a Fork. #Macro #MacroMondays #StylingFoodonaFork
Fresh and full of goodness but free of calories, a healthy treat and while this is a big forkful I can't imagine a human eating enough to get the soporific effect it had on Peter Rabbit. Mrs Grieve's Modern Herbal advises that cultivation has lessened the narcotic properties - but it is still used for making a lotion for the skin useful in sunburn and roughness.
