World's Tiniest Studio: a little corner (behind a door) .
It really looks a lot better when you can hear the Mozart -- -- -
A wide view from a recent shoot with actor Ian Lockhart.
strobist: AB 800 with beauty dish from above, cam left. AB 800 thru 32" white umbrella, cam right, for fill. AB 400 with 40-degree grid behind subject, aimed at backdrop. 32" white reflector to subject's left. Powered by PW Plus IIs.
This is for RyanJLane, who asked about the set-up of the portrait that precedes this in my gallery. The only difference is that for the portrait the key light had a 30-degree grid on it instead of a beauty dish, and the light with the umbrella was turned off.
My old electric sewing machine Singer 15K88 offered by a friend of my father when I was 20.
The Singer serial number is EB-147.325, EB numbered Singers were made in Clydebank, Scotland, 1937-1939.
The old motor gave up the ghost so a ugly new one was installed. I do everything with it <3 <3 <3 <3
STUDIO. Black Chelsea Boots paired up with a pair of Skinny Carrot jeans, lighting is natural dayliight from a south facing window.
Strobist Info: Sony HVLF60M at 1/4 power triggered with Cowboy Studio trigger in 26" Westcott Rapid Box Softbox with diffuser 45 degrees camera left. Westcott white wrinkle-resistant backdrop lit with HVL-F56AM bounced off an umbrella and a 75 watt daylight LED bulb in a clamp light
My Garage studio, 2 bowens lights on Manfrotto booms fixed to wall camera right. The high rear light has a gridded dish plus diffuser on it (hair light). The front top light has a 1meter x 60cm softbox on it as main modelling light (at the moment a beuty light - flat on and above subject)
3rd Bowens mono silver behind on a floor stand pointing back at subject. For a white B/G I just turn light to face back wall.
Hensel ring flash in my hands, pack is to camera left.
Grey panel behind subject as B/G.
2 curtain rails run along back wall for a black or blue background.
Walls are lined with plaster board and painted white.
Floor is laminate in subject area.
There is a lastolite triflector in front of subject but it is not in the correct position for a portrait as this was just to show the syudio and it hid the subject when placed properly.
These studio shots of flowers show several different arrangements. The record indicates the photos were taken in 1972 on Palm Island, Queensland.

This is my studio! WooHoo! I have been working on this place since early December. The building was built in 1940 and was a wholesale meat warehouse from 1940-2008 (same company the entire time). It was a LOT of working turning a meat warehouse into a photography studio, but I think I am 70-80% done!
This is the smaller of the two rooms and is used for pre-sessions... meetings... proofing... etc.
A billion notes on these... check them out for more info.
I love the way Siptakg's studio has become part of her art. www.flickr.com/photos/siptak/3849337554/
Whenever I start to feel overwhelmed by the rest of my life I just have to remind myself that I get to escape to my studio almost every day. It's a good life.
In Camera Multiple Exposure
During the final weekend of the Austin Studio Tour 2022, I created in camera multiple exposure photos.
This photo was created at the Cloud Tree Gallery
.
This is a quicker version of my Memory Photo series I have created in the past. I love how the many moments of a day merge in different ways over time.
