Springfest is an annual tradition at UIS. Teams of students compete in events ranging from trivia night to flag football. Of course, no Springfest would be complete without the final event, tug of war over the infamous mud pit. Seventeen teams participated in Springfest 2007.

The 10th annual USG Student Achievement & Leadership Breakfast took place on Friday, April 11, 2014. This event highlights the Academic Achievement Award winners from each undergraduate program at USG and also honors students who have demonstrated outstanding leadership and service.
Academic Achievement Awards
These awards are presented to one outstanding senior from each undergraduate program offered at USG who has demonstrated academic excellence and achievement. Winners are selected on the basis of grade point average, participation in internships and honor societies and contributions to their program of study. These students are selected by academic program directors.
Student Leadership and Service Awards
These awards are presented to three seniors who have demonstrated outstanding leadership, service and dedication to USG and the community at large. Winners are selected on the basis of their participation in extracurricular activities, community service and commitment to their fellow students.
