Waterbury Fire was dispatched for a possible structure fire at 45 Summit St in the Brooklyn Section of the City. As crews responded multiple calls reporting the fire began to come into the ERC.
The first due assignment arrived to find the vacant dwelling at 45 Summit well involved and the B-side of a second vacant dwelling at 43 Summit was also in flames. Residents of 49 Summit were alerted to the fire which was also threatening their home by a passing motorist who noticed the fire and began blowing his car horn to alert area residents of the fire, evacuated the structure as fire fighters laid in supply lines. Crews were initially hampered by downed power lines as the flames burned through the service to the house.
With the heavy fire making an interior attack impossible crews utilized master streams as well as the monitor on Engine 8 to flood the fully involved building and protect he exposures on either side. The fire was knocked down after about 45 minutes but not before it had damaged the roof of the occupied structure and badly damaged the vacant structure on the opposite side.
Investigators pin pointed the origin of the fire to a couch on the second floor of the original fire building possible started by vagrants.

On the third day of the bike trip, while still in the Netherlands, we passed this structure out in the middle of a field. I think it might be a bat house? I have no idea.
The larger piece is both the bottom of the superstructure and the front panel, not yet cut off. The smaller piece will be the top of the superstructure, in two parts for a hinged access panel.
On Monday, November 25, 2013, at 0811 hours, units of the Santa Clara County Fire Department responded to reports of a structure fire at 424 Carlyn Avenue in Campbell, California.
Firefighters were confronted with a blaze that appeared to have started on the exterior of a one story single family home with extension to the structure’s interior and attic space. Heavy fire conditions led to the striking of a second alarm as crews worked to contain the blaze to the original fire building.
The fire destroyed a portion of the home’s contents as well as a significant portion of the structure itself. Damage was estimated to be approximately $350,000. There were no injuries reported and crews remained on scene for an extended period to complete overhaul operations.

IBA - Institute of Business Administration, City Campus, Karachi, Pakistan.
At the time I was at IBA - Institute of Business Administration, Karachi, Pakistan, it was afternoon, the light being very harsh but at the same time creating interesting shadows and patterns. This attracted me to first time turn on the “Noir” effect on my cellphone and shoot these.
I found it quite easy as I could view it in monochrome. I always say doing black and white on film is very difficult.
This is actually support structure for power lines crossing the Willamette river. But, in my opinion at least, in this photo, it looks like something that has been 'lost' to a forest or jungle over and extended period of time.
Whilst I probably should write my own definition of flame structures here's a link explaining what they are if anyone's interested or doesn't know!
