So today I forgot my camera. That is, I forgot the memory card, and I ended up carrying the heavy but useless piece of machinery with me while taking photo's with the iPhone. Just the shadow on the bridge.

Vandaag dus mijn camera vergeten mee te nemen. Dat wil zeggen, ik was vergeten mijn memory card terug te doen. Ik liep dus met een zware en nutteloze machine rond onderwijl foto's makend met mijn iPhone. Simpele foto van de schaduw op de brug.

Firefighters battle a structure fire at the former Saratoga Winners in Colonie, NY

The main structure was designed in 1824 by Friedrich Weinbrenner, who is responsible for the Corinthian columns and paired-griffins frieze of the grand entrance and the neo-classical interiors. Although a casino was incorporated from the inception of the Kurhaus, it only began to achieve international fame in the mid-1830s, when gambling was forbidden in France. This legal barrier encouraged gamblers to cross the border where they could try their luck at Baden-Baden's gaming tables.[1] Fyodor Dostoyevsky's The Gambler was inspired by the Russian author's visit to the Kurhaus casino.[2] At one point in her life, Marlene Dietrich declared that this was "the most beautiful casino in the world."[3] Wikipedia

Structure Protection at Spotted Bear Ranger Station 8/8/2023. Water tanks called 'pumpkins' are used to hold water. With Mark 3 water pumps and hose lays. The building is one of the houses for the district personnel.

At 3:55AM on January 5, 2025 the Los Angeles City Fire Department responded to a reported structure fire in the 1500 block of W 206th St in Harbor Gateway South.

Firefighters arrived to find a one-story, single family dwelling with fire showing and immediately initiated an offensive fire attack.

Firefighters extinguished the fire in 25 minutes with no injuries reported.
