playing around with imaging once again, trying to get hold of "strong" colors using more or less clear structures... how did I do, so far? ;) at least, it's sort of bright, in a certain way...

“Power is not an institution, and not a structure; neither is it a certain strength we are endowed with; it is the name that one attributes to a complex strategical situation in a particular society.”

Steel structure that looks more like a rollercoaster than a building, that's a sign it most be a Frank O. Gehry design. Taken march 12, 2002.
Title: Dumbarton Oaks Gardens: Lovers Lane Pool
Other title: Dumbarton Oaks Gardens (Washington, D.C.)
Creator: Farrand, Beatrix, 1872-1959
Creator role: Landscape Architect
Date: 1923 (constructed) 1930 (major modification)
Current location: Washington, District of Columbia, United States
Description of work: The Dumbarton Oaks Gardens were designed by the noted landscape gardener Beatrix Farrand, in cooperation with her clients Mr. and Mrs. Robert Woods Bliss, who purchased the property in 1920. The formal gardens occupy 10 acres. The major work was completed between 1921 and 1941, although changes, notably the addition of the Pebble Garden and redesign of the Ellipse, continued to be made by Mrs. Bliss, working with Ruth Havey. Endowments were established expressly for the purpose of maintaining the gardens and for supporting a program of research in landscape architecture.
Description of view: Lovers Lane Pool, bordered with Italianate cast-stone columns designed by Farrand.

Base of a very photogenic-non-severe thunderstorm over Lake Winnebago on 6/23/10. That lowering did have a little bit of rotation but it didn't produce anything at all...
The amazing structure inside the Belfry (Halletoren) in Brugge. This medieval bell tower was originally built in 1240 but burnt down in 1280 before being rebuilt. The octagonal upper stage of the belfry was added between 1483 and 1487. On the right hand side you can see the stairwell, leading ever higher. The image is taken on the second floor.

A study of 7620 Michigan Avenue in Detroit, Michigan.
It is just one of the many pre-depression structures found on the US-12 roadway in Detroit.
Though it is abandoned and in disrepair, the structure still retains its beauty. Of note architecturally are the facial reliefs that finish off graceful columns that flow down from the elaborate roofline, to create a frame for the bay window and corner window. Also seen is a decorative pediment above the Michigan Avenue entry.
While not much is known about the history, "John Ciagle Lawyer" is still displayed prominently in an upper floor window. Dar-pol Travel once operated out of the Michigan Avenue storefront.
This dilapidated metal warehouse, 512’ long x 72’ wide x 52’ high, is no longer in use but still stands at Pier 70, a 65-acre site at the Port of San Francisco. The building, once called the "Light Warehouse", has corrugated steel siding and roofing and was the location for storage of pieces required for the outfitting of ships being built at the nearby docks.
Pier 70 is located a couple miles from downtown San Francisco, east of Illinois Street. The site is distinguished today by its unique collection of industrial structures that were developed between the 1850's and 1920's to serve the ship building, steel manufacturing and ship repair industries that dominated the area. Though the buildings are in an advanced state of deterioration they make up a one-of-a-kind collection.
This house is located on the Coonley Estate and joined with some of the other structures. I assumed this part was also by Wright, but there seems to be little accessible information on it. Perhaps, it is a later construction in a similar style.
Human brain structure is divided into 4 different parts. Cerebrum is main part of the brain used to memorize, sensory processing, learning, olfaction, language and communication. Cerebellum plays important part with rational thinking and motor control. Limbic system is a complex set which controls the emotions of the system. The last part is Stem Brain which connects the whole brain to spinal cord. For more details check.
