I haven't been able to spend as much time with photography or on Flickr as I would have liked the past couple weeks. I'm sure everyone's been busy with the holidays. Unfortunately I got a nasty cold for Christmas and I've been spending most of my time in bed. Hopefully it won't take me too long to catch up on all your photos!
The largest structure in the hamlet of Covet is the church Santa Maria de Covet, a gem of romanesque art in Catalonia. The church, once part of an Augustinian priory, is surprisingly large for that tiny hamlet (pop. ~ 20), but during medieval times this must have been a busier place than it is today. The church (Latin cross plan) is dated 1150/1160 and it is believed, that it was built upon the foundations of an older Visigoth church.
On the right side of the archivolt, opposite Daniel, is this male person, holding two large birds (eagles? doves?). I have no idea, who he may be and cannot identify him. Is this Noe on his way to the ark? As the figure is very weathered, I have concentrated here on the upper body.
Again here are the rectangular jug-ears, same as Daniel and young Jesus have.

Title: Villa la Magia
Other title: Villa la Magia (Quarrata, Italy)
Creator: Buontalenti, Bernardo, 1536-1608
Creator role: Architect
Date: 16th-18th century
Current location: Quarrata, Pistoia, Tuscany, Italy
Description of work: This villa, formerly the fortified residence of the Panciatichi family, was bought by the grand-duke Francesco (de'Medici) in 1581, who commissioned Buontalenti to carry out rebuilding work. The property later passed into the hands of the Attavanti family, then to the Ricasoli and finally to the Amati-Cellesi Counts, the current owners. The villa's late-Renaissance features - a solid square building from which two corner towers protrude - are perfectly preserved. The facades, pierced by a regular series of windows with stone surrounds, recall the linear simplicity found on other designs by Buontalenti. The entrance to the park, which is full of oaks, Himalayan cedars, holm-oaks, plane trees, ginkgo biloba and black walnut trees, is through a gate with a masonrywork exedra adorned with pedimented columns. On the southern side of the villa is a Baroque-style garden, furnished with 17th-century works. Another attractive feature is the lake, added at a later stage both for ornamentation and for water storage purposes. Vestigial structures – a structure that is rudimentary and of marginal or no use to the organism.
Pictured here is a scar on my brother's abdomen. He had to have his appendix removed because of an infection, and because the organ is vestigial, there were no ill effects after removal.
Scattered Light features 1,536 LEDs encased in standard light bulbs and suspended within a support structure 80 feet in length, 20 feet high and 16 feet deep. Hanging in mid-air, these tiny light sources vibrantly illuminate the night while using less electricity than a kitchen toaster. The LED bulbs are programmed so that, when viewed up close, they 'play back' previously recorded video footage in very low resolution. From other points of view, the outdoor sculpture is just scattered light.
In an interview, Campbell says: "The work can be thought about as a two-dimensional x-y grid of lights (displaying an image) that has been pulled apart into a three-dimensional partially filled grid, such that the final work has no more information than the original two-dimensional grid had. It's a variation of an idea that I've had for a long time and that is to look at ways of stretching an image out of its two dimensional form."

My family and I were at this new park over on the Northern Side of Fort Wayne, and as we were resting under a pavillion, I looked up and saw this! Something about the water stains in the wood and the geometry of the whole structure really pulled me in. Of course, as a photographer, I ran up to my car and grabbed my camera for the perfect shot!
Thanks, have an awesome day.
***I enjoy the comments more than the awards/invites. I will reply to all comments but ignore invites/awards. thank you everyone***
Failed cockatiel clutch had an egg with breached shell which led to dessication. As this is a situation not to be intentionally repeated it posed a rare photographic opportunity.
The first part of the homework dealing with structure. Made with acrylic black on white paper and a steelwool.
Actually I threw this one out of the series and replaced it with a different one. As my prof. has the originals at the moment, I'll put the final version online by the time I get it back.
