Among the most elaborate structures in Moorefield's historic commercial district is the McCoy's Grand Theater. Built in a restrained Classical Revival Style, the theater was completed in 1927, built by James and Eunice McCoy. The theater was ran by the family until 1988, when Eunice's failing health forced her to close the business. Today, the restored theater is used as an arts center for the community. The auditorium features lush red upholstered chairs and decorative drapery on the walls. The original gallery, once used by African American patrons in the days of Jim Crow, is still in place. In a small exhibit room in the building, original seats from the theater are displayed.
