I chose this quote by Strauss because structuralist believe that structures are the 'real things' that lie beneath the surface or the appearance of meaning and that is what Strauss is saying when he says there are things we dont know of but we can still learn our relation to them.

 

I chose this picture because if you were just looking at the outside of the android you would see its flesh and think it is human however if you cut it open you would see its electronic structure. The way structuralist believe meaning is hidden beneath the surface.

Here you see the fake beams I made from 3/8" foam, they look cool and help keep anything I might put in the trunk from rolling around. Piano hinge is also visible here but is later hidden under the carpet.
