A lot of the buildings in the area had the original bricks exposed like this. The smaller villages can't afford to renovate the houses like the cities do. It gives the area a lot more character, though, and the buildings aren't suffering because of it.
I like the work of Jeanette Barnes. Her hyperactive personality is evident through her use of line and energetic mark making. I made this piece in response to her work.

CHANGI NAVAL BASE (July 28, 2015) Aviation Structural Mechanic Airman Jeremy Lewis inspects the tire of an MH-60R helicopter, from Helicopter Maritime Strike Squadron (HSM) 35, aboard the littoral combat ship USS Fort Worth (LCS 3).
