Rüterberg - bis 1938 Wendisch Wehningen - ist ein Ortsteil der Stadt Dömitz im Landkreis Ludwigslust-Parchim in Mecklenburg-Vorpommern. © www.christoph-bellin.de Bekannt wurde die Gemeinde durch den 1989 von ihren Bürgern ausgerufenen Status der Dorfrepublik Rüterberg. Von 1991 bis 2001 hieß die ehemalige Gemeinde offiziell Rüterberg („Dorfrepublik“ 1961 – 1989), nachfolgend bis 2002 Rüterberg („Dorfrepublik“ 1967 – 1989). Zu Zeiten der deutschen Teilung war er aufgrund der Vorschriften der DDR-Grenzsicherung 22 Jahre lang von Sperranlagen umgeben. 1991 erhielt die Gemeinde Rüterberg vom Innenminister des Landes Mecklenburg-Vorpommern das Recht, die Bezeichnung „Dorfrepublik 1961–1989“ (ab 2001 „Dorfrepublik 1967–1989“) als Zusatz auf allen Ortsschildern zu führen. Bei dem Akt der staatlichen Anerkennung, der Verleihung der Urkunde, waren 100 Jugendliche aus 19 Nationen anwesend. Die Regelung galt bis zum 21. Oktober 2002 – seitdem heißt das Dorf wieder Rüterberg. Das Dorf befindet sich im UNESCO-Biosphärenreservat Flusslandschaft Elbe-Mecklenburg-Vorpommern - seit 1999 wurde ein Aussichtturm mit Blick ins Elbetal aufgestellt. 2004 wurde Rüterberg in die STadt Dömitz eingemeindet. Als Denkmal der deutschen Teilung sind Teile eines Grenzzauns mit Schlagbaum aufgestellt. In der Tongrube Rüterberg wurde 80 Jahre lange bis 1968 Ton abgebaut. In Rüterberg leben ca. 200 Menschen - der Ort ist Teil der Metropolregion Hamburg.
For many years, we have had a fun practice, which has evolved, I suppose, to a tradition over the past decade or so within my immediate family and some close friends. Initially dubbed "Turkey Day Replay" it eventually has settled on the name "Second Thanksgiving" for us - where we make another Thanksgiving Dinner and sides in order to have more leftovers to enjoy. We also try out new recipes and experiment with other things that we might try on "First Thanksgivings" in the future.
The 2018 version of Second Thanksgiving would include a long time favorite "Strong Stuff" which was a recipe of my Aunt Kay's featuring bing cherries, cherry jello, and port wine.

This image represents the feeling I had during the week where I was studying the Bible. I felt as if God was protecting me from any and all things that would usually bother me or give me stress. I felt the strong tower that He was and the peace it offered gave me rest.
