THF73634 Pieced between 1950-1955, this strip quilt is made of cotton prints and solids, flannel. It is filled with homemade cotton batting and the back is pieced from salt sacks.

I have always thought this was a pretty picture of an ugly thing..strip mining.

My original design. The body is crocheted batik fabric strips, the flap is crocheted recycled sari silk, and the medallion is crocheted perle cotton with a center glass bead. The straps are braided fabric strips. The backpack is lined with a repurposed patchwork knit t-shirt.
