The forest changes near the junction with the Golden Stairway track, to become Wet Sclerophyll. The orange-barked tree is Sydney Red Gum (Angophora costata), and the tree with the dense dark green foliage and stringy bark is Turpentine (Syncarpia glomulifera). The ground fern is much denser than in Rain Forest and in this case seems to be Soft Bracken (Calochloena dubia).

Rasa's feet- I used old henna, it was not stringy any more and it was starting to separate. we will see how it stains
Double Top Mountain Overlook Area
There are so many beautiful wildflowers and butterflies around this particular overlook that you forget to look at Double Top Mountain across the valley!!
Here we have Phlox, Oswego Tea (Bergamot Beebalm), Green Headed Coneflowers, something funny looking I can't identify, and lots of other little dainty wildflowers. There is also quite a stand of "Dodder" (orange stringy stuff with white flowers) is also present . this is an invasive parasite and has a tendency to "take over" if you aren't careful, but it adds a LOT of color to the roadside, and Monarchs who will come through in September will really love it!

Twize is a nice yarn! 100% bamboo. Its a little stringy, but not too bad. Just gotta make sure you start off right so it doesn't untwist. The color is great! Works really well with this stitch pattern.
These are Gourds (pepos) and female flower of the vine, Cucurbita foetidissima, the Buffalo Gourd. The Cucurbitaceae produce a modified kind of Berry called a Pepo from an inferior compound ovary. Pepos have a skin-like exocarp, a leathery mesocarp, and a fleshy or stringy endocarp.

A man went to a barbershop to have his hair cut and his beard trimmed.
As the barber began to work, they began to have a good conversation.
They talked about so many things and various subjects.
When they eventually touched on the subject of God, the barber said:
'I don't believe that God exists.'
'Why do you say that?' asked the customer. 'Well, you just have to go out in the street to realize that God doesn't exist.
Tell me, if God exists, would there be so many sick people?
Would there be abandoned children?
If God existed, there would be neither suffering nor pain.
I can't imagine a loving God who would allow all of these things.'
The customer thought for a moment, but didn't respond because he didn't want to start an argument.
The barber finished his job and the customer left the shop.
Just after he left the barbershop, he saw a man in the street with long, stringy, dirty hair and an untrimmed beard.
He looked dirty and unkempt. The customer turned back and entered the barber shop again and he said to the barber:
'You know what? Barbers do not exist.'
'How can you say that?' asked the surprised barber.
'I am here, and I am a barber. And I just worked on you!'
'No!' the customer exclaimed. 'Barbers don't exist because
If they did, there would be no people with dirty long hair and untrimmed beards, like that man outside.'
'Ah, but barbers DO exist! That's what happens when people do not come to me.'
'Exactly!' affirmed the customer. 'That's the point! God, too, DOES exist!
That's what happens when people do not go to Him and don't look to Him for help.
That's why there's so much pain and suffering in the world.'

Yummy! We had a nice dinner this evening! It was chicken and garlic pizza, made fresh at Papa Murphy's...yummy! Actually haven't had pizza in a while so this was nice. It was also fresh from the oven. The cheese was still stringy as we separated and sliced the pieces! Let's feast! (Sunday evening, October 19, 2014)
THIS BUFFALO WAS A BIT 'RAMY'....CAME OVER TO US AND TRIED TO TAKE OUT THE FLIMSY FENCE WHICH WAS THE ONLY THING BETWEEN US....WE GOT A BIT WORRIED SO LEFT.

We happened to get to this Buffalo neighborhood during a street fair, though it was still just early evening, so there weren't very many people out. You can see a performer in the background to the right, dressed in some kind of stringy outfit. (I envy that kind of confidence.) She sounded pretty good, but we didn't stay long. We had someplace to see.
I took this photo because I grew up playing a lot of basketball on this hoop. If you look closely you can see the huge crack dead center in the backboard. That is the result of a football being thrown at the hoop, shattering the plastic. I took this photo by angling the camera up so that I could catch the deep blue sky as well as the detail of the frayed net. I edited this photo by decreasing the exposure. I also used the clone tool to get rid of some distracting leaves in the background. One can make two photos work as one concept by highlighting different features of the same object. In the bottom photo I focused on the circular hoop, the stringy net, and the metal frame. For the top photo I tried to focus on the lanky frame and the cracked backboard.

After previous days, we decided to do a nice easy walk along the Changping Valley. We were blessed with blue skies early on so we finally got to see the 'Four Girls'. This was an easy 15km round trip with great views everywhere.

Rosa's Cafe - Tortilla Factory
For my lunch entrée I chose cheese enchiladas. I use them or chiles rellenos as a yardstick to compare restaurant fare. Rosa's are quite good; the special thing about them is that the cheese is not stringy and I do not have to fight to keep it out of my beard. Chiles rellenos are not on the menu here so that comparison was unavailable. Their salsas, seen to the right of the plate are spiii-cee!
I don't know what they're called, but I love how the edges of the palm leaves peel off and twist around each other. Kinda looks like spaghetti.
