I've been admiring all those string pieced quilts that I've seen online for the past couple years. They look so cheerful, so when Stephanie of Loft Creations started a scrappy string challenge I decided that would be my impetus to make one.
These blocks are all trimmed to 6" square - pieced on plain white muslin all sewn with scraps from my scrap box.

String Lake is located in Grand Teton National Park, in the U. S. state of Wyoming. The natural lake is located at the outflow of Leigh Lake. A small wetland area is on the northwest side of the lake and is prime moose habitat. A short half mile long creek connects String Lake to Jenny Lake to the south. The lake can easily be accessed by vehicle and a number of trails commence from the String Lake trailhead parking area.

I recently posted a photo of a String of Pearls flower. These are the leaves of the plant cascading from a hanging basket.
The tall plant behind it is an African milk bush (Synadenium grantii).

Even though Tiberius is sporting his most serious look, I am afraid that I am not going to launch into a narrative on THE String Theory - you know, a self-contained mathematical model that describes all fundamental forces and forms of matter.
No, we are going to talk about Tiberius' String Theory which is just as much a force of nature. Tiberius' theory is that his Momma should wave his string toy around until her arm falls off - and then she should switch to swinging it with her feet. Seriously. He is merciless.
And, he is not serious here, he's sleepy. He is never, ever serious.
One of a series of photographs of Caliper Studio designed stair in fabrication. The challenge is to make a seemingly unsupported fluid winder stair from steel. Solution is to create three box-like stringers clad with breakformed treads that are welded into continuous folded plate in fabrication.

According to GoMA's website: "Ohmaki transforms a discrete gallery space in the Gallery of Modern Art into a ‘liminal’ zone, offering a profoundly physical experience in which audiences can consider perceptions of eternity and the sublime."
In other words you get to walk through a world of hanging string which is tactile, disorientating and super fun.
This sample was from standing water in a potted plant tray. The string-like bacteria can be seen in the center of the frame admist all of the rushing motile and most likely flagellum propelled bacteria.
