Strada sforii (Romanian for 'String street', German: Fadengasse ) is the narrowest street in the city of Braşov, Romania. It is believed to be one of the narrowest streets in Europe (Spreuerhofstraße, in Germany, and Parliament Street, in England, are narrower).

It is situated near Șchei Gate and it is perpendicular to Strada Cerbului (Stag Street). It was initially built as a corridor that firemen could use, and it is first mentioned in 17th century documents. Strada sforii is now a tourist attraction and meeting spot. Its width varies between 111 and 135 centimeters, and it is 80 meters long.[1]

’ve waited nine years for this moment…

For reasons unknown to us, Nex and Stringer would never see another release after 2012, despite two full waves of sets they could easily have been integrated into. With Bulk growing increasingly orange and Stringer’s lack of unified color scheme, my belief is that Nex and Stringer underperformed in BREAKOUT as the two cheaper sets of the second wave and were cut from the lineup for the remainder of Hero Factory’s run.

Until today…

With a helmet commissioned from @galva_nize_ I present BRAIN ATTACK Stringer. He is of the same height class as Stormer and Surge and is equipped with a Hero Sword. He also has a scanning apparatus affixed to his arm for performing sonar sweeps and picking up thermal signatures. I went for a more hefty build as Stringer deserves the extra muscle. I have also tried to combine his blue BREAKOUT color scheme and his orange 1.0 colors to create something that honors both.

I have taken great lengths to keep the design language of the other BRAIN ATTACK sets:

- Melee weapons

- Silver or Gunmetal secondary color

- Transparent armor piece

- Hero Core Clamp and Visor

This build uses a shoulder configuration first used by Beardly_Designs. I don’t think anything else draws inspiration from other MOCs but, if you feel it does, let me know!

Building this MOC is honestly a dream come true for me. I’m glad I can finally give Stringer the form he deserves.

Pulling Line is a very strong STRING, made up of multiple poly fibers, used to pull electrical wire, etc through conduit. It comes in various different colors so that several can be left in the conduit for later use if needed. It is also very smooth to minimize friction, which also makes it difficult to knot, but easy to tie to the ends of wires - if you know how.

This is the top of the container which feeds the line as you pull the other end.

While I had the photo set-up from my shoot with the Rabbit, I thought I'd try a couple other MOCs I have handy. Mom's Kitchen has had a major rebuild to adjust the height of the tail so the thrust from the engines wouldn't melt it off. I'm happy with the new configuration, but now I need to finish!

“Gimme a hand,” whined Sprite.

“Look,” said Spectre, “it’s all about physics and finances.”

“Oh, I don’t care,” said Sprite. “The receipts are stuffed inside the roll.”

At that moment, the reel of string rolled off the shelf, onto a spring, then launched through a skylight.

Sprite sighed.

“Looks like string sales are skyrocketing,” smirked Spectre.

This is a 'light painting'. I used a small single red LED flashlight to make this.

Spring cleaning and I cleared out two drawers full of scraps!

Strips of fabrics in different width and randomly sew together. Not particularly perfect....just pick a color and joint!

I was hooked and finished in 2 Saturdays.

Anna Maria Horner Good Folks - String Quilt Progress

This is a string quilt I have been working on for my sister. Initially I planned on using the multiple diamonds layout that is most popular with this paper pieced block. However, I just could not face the prospect of making 16 more blocks so I began contemplating other layouts. After doing some looking around on flickr and the Web I came up with this one (similar to a values quilt layout). I think I like it; but, it may need one more row across the bottom so it is a rectangle instead of a square...opinions? Edit: I went ahead and added another row across the bottom. Also, I've learned that the name of this layout is Barn Raising.

And I decided that colours should be arranged one by one forming a rainbow.

Sorry for the bad pictures, it is too big to be photographed inside and outside it is really nasty :(

I visited a local cat rescue NPO, they exist on small donations which goes to pay for food for the cats. They allow you to play with and pet the cats (and take pictures!) so the cats can get some much needed human interaction. Seems a worthy cause and win/win for both the cats and animal lovers. Adoptions are also available.

Another shot from that day. Seagulls waiting patiently to fish on a ship at Yokohama. The angle is different and a dark background of the ship provides the necessary contrast.
