Two Water Striders doing their thing on a beaver pond off the old Kerry Lake Forest Service Road west of the Crooked River. These interesting insects walk on water using the back two of their three pairs of legs. They are meat eaters and prey mainly on smaller insects. Taken Aug 28, 2009.

More strange metal animals from Alabama. This one's called the Strider from Chernobyl and is located in Brundidge, AL. The artist is Ronald Godwin.

Amongst the green reflections, a Black-Winged Stilt is in a hurry to get "over there" :)
