An American Oystercatcher stretches out the kinks after a nap on the windy beach.

"I am always doing, that which I cannot do, in order that I may learn how to do it."

Quote - Pablo Picasso

"""The little Moose's Dragon is doing the daily stretching excises, because for dragons it is also very important to stay flexible."""" ;-))

I always try to shoot multiple scenes and situations for the origami models, that I fold. Coincidentally, the theme for the 😄 HaPpY CrAzY Tuesday 😄 this week is 'Reflection(s)', so that also fitted in nicely.

Happy Crazy Tuesday 😄

(っ◔◡◔)っ ♥ BEARDED GIRAFFE ♥っ

Here we have a magnificent female Inland Bearded Dragon (Pogona vitticeps) propped upright to obtain a better view on a vast and desolate gibber plain near Coober Pedy in central SA. I was happy to see that there were so many beardeds active in that region on that day, and many were displaying to conspecifics as we drove past them. You can tell this girl has seen some good seasons as she has quite a small head in proportion to body mass. Judging by the loose dorso-lateral skin folds, I'd hazard a guess that she has recently undergone oviposition as well.

Preening in a pool of water, this mallard gives herself a nice stretch...

Kokanee Series 1

This is a roughly 2 year old juvenile American Bald Eagle, given the speckled white on his face (visible in other photos). This captures the power in his shoulders as he stretches, getting ready to hunt Kokanee in the wetlands east of and adjacent to Lake Coeur d’Alene.

The word kokanee means "red fish" in the Sinixt Interior Salish language, and "silver trout" in the Okanagan language. These salmon remain in fresh water and don’t migrate to the sea like their cousins. They’re native in the areas that had great flooding during glacial melts - Washington, Idaho, Oregon, California as well as British Columbia & the Yukon.

They are born in adjacent streams and migrate to Lakes Coeur d’Alene & Lake Pend Oreille - among other spots. Their spawning in the late Fall into the winter attracts migrating eagles.

Having FUN . . .

If Taylor Swift sees this, she'll do a double take for sure!

Her summer cottage is in the picture, but a bit distorted,

just for kicks!

Capri

DAVID STEFÁNSSON Katarína

Come on, all you Capri young mans.

Come. Circle me while I say my farewell poem

sing about little Katarina.

Let laugh and cry in celebration

guitars and mandolins.

Katarina, Katarina,

Katarína is my girl.

In a fish shack on a rocky island

Little Katarína lives.

Sirens on the sea so blue

sing about our adventures.

On a sacret bowl in the shadows of the trees

she gave me her Capri wine.

Katarina, Katarina,

Katarína my girl.

With a crown of Capri flowers

she crowned me the first day.

From the highest peak of happiness

we watched the sunset.

There we danced the tarantella

and stretched out the divine wine of life.

Katarina, Katarina,

Katarína my girl.

But now I have to say goodbye to Capri

and little Katarina today.

I will look out to the islands

lonesome at the next sunset.

Cry with me, golden strings,

guitars and mandolins.

Oh, Catherine, Catherine,

Katarína, my girl.

This is the male Tree Swallow who decided that our yard would be a good place to raise a family. I prefer to photograph them on a cloudy day for less contrast and love to just wait for them to preen or stretch their wings. This comes at the expense of getting things done at home! There are 6 eggs in the box and we think that they may hatch in a week or so. Taken in our back yard in Calgary, Alberta.

Thank you for your visit and comments. They are very much appreciated.

Just stumbling over the meadow, I found this beauty stretching. Doesn't she look amazing?

The long shadows of a summers evening on the beach huts in Shoreham By Sea.

The final stretch of track that leads us back to the car park at the Freycinet National Park. The sun is getting lower now, the shadows longer. Soon it will be dark and I'm anxious to make it back to Coles Bay to get some sunset shots. But I've been up since 4am with those pre-dawn shots, and the 13.5 kilometres walk and photo shoot has been tiring.

The strange tree (or is that creature?) in front of us has been given a little makeover by some hikers. That won't please the rangers. Actually this is a Tasmanian Grass-tree (Xanthorrhoea australis). There are 66 species and it is only found in Australia. The Bush Heritage Trust has a wonderful lot of information about it.

One more stretch of the wings before tiake off. This time of year the Brown Pelicans hang out alot in this area. It must be rich in food and offer them the protextion they need on the Bird Island I often take photos of.

There were multiple White-throated sparrows (Zonotrichia albicollis) around the trunk and branches of this maple tree. They were behaving more like woodpeckers looking for insects in the bark. The overcast sky made for colorful maple leaves.
