I've been told the best portraits are the ones where the subject is able to relate emotions we all go through in life
this setup was very simple,
2 Speedlights with grids on each side of my subject creating a nice moody image.
Yes. Show a bit of understanding (very likely, I am talking to myself). Fuji X-E2 plus Helios 44M-7 wide-open.
Macro image of a fork made from a birefringent polymer, revealing internal stresses from forming and an induced crack. The image was made with two polarizing filters and an LED light source. Taken for the Macro Mondays challenge on the theme of "crack".
Anytime I am in need of a little stress relief, I always look to the sea. It never disappoints. :-)

... the time between the years. I love these days. Christmas is behind us, the stress is over and peace is returning. Finally. Time to reflect, to think about what happened in the past and what should happen next year. Having conversations that have been waiting for their moment for a long time, meeting old friends for whom there was never enough time. And, for me: finally looking through the photos from the old year, deciding which are the best - or which story, which somehow always belongs to them, editing a little here and organizing a little there. This time, there is a lot, not because there are so many, but because time has been a bit of an enemy of mine this year. But how nice to remember these many fascinating moments and put them aside with a smile, because the new round will soon begin.

So, if you want to say something about my photo, it will be really appreciated, no matter if it's about liking or some constructive criticism. Your own thoughts and words will mean much more to me than a universal-text or an explosion of emojis; so it would be wonderful if you also could renounce using too many emojis - dont flood us with them please.
Also please don't post pictures in the commenting-area. You could post them much better in your own photo stream. ;-D
Stress is a funny thing, it is something that we simply can't do anything about yet we like to have it everywhere we go. We love it at work for it makes us feel important. We like it at home, for it helps us keep things in order. In fact we adore it so much we even bring it along for our vacation. Stress is an essential part of our life, it keeps us in check just so we can achieve our goals. Stress itself is not the cause for our unhappiness, your reaction to it is. Hence cheer up my friends and be happy you have stress, it simply means you are an important person.
I’ve been practicing mindfulness and breathing exercises for stress reduction. I’ve discovered it also helps to picture a scene like this.

When I have too much stress I have a recurring dream. I am back in Graduate School and already have a job lined up for after graduation. It is the night before a final which it an essay final on a book I haven't read. My entire grade in this class rides on that exam and the realization that there is no way for me to pass sets in. I usually wake up before the exam starts.
