This is for a good friend who is going thru a lot of pain.
..came across a beautiful, very large apple tree on a walk in the park a little while ago in the midst of winter. I was stuck by how many apples were still holding on! The tree was quite loaded with just a few on the ground! Natures way of providing for the little birds & animals, I thought ..:))

The amazing ever-living Redwood Tree.
Capable of withstanding storms, floods, fires, drought, and even tree-devouring termites, these mighty redwoods can live over 2,000 years. Redwoods possess amazing strength, vigor, and regenerative powers. They have earned their name Sequoia
sempervirens-meaning ever-green or ever-living.
Bark up to a foot thick protects the growing part of the tree. Roots grow sideways and fuse with roots of neighboring trees, forming a network of stability. Leaves catch moisture from fog, a precious source of water when rain is scarce.
Red pigment contains an insect-deterring chemical called tannin-a potent repellent against termites, wood-boring beetles, and fungal attack.
Dormant buds sprout and the tree continues to grow after a limb or top breaks off.
In the middle of the Vienna Central Cemetery lies the
"Park of Peace and Strength".
It is laid out in the ancient tradition of geomancy (originally: divination from the earth) and garden design. Visitors can find peace and contemplation here. They can make contact with the forces of nature, plants and trees, stones and earth.

'SLEEPY EYES.'
This is the same individual as shown previously, but up in the top of the Hawthorn tree. It was enjoying some gorgeous late afternoon sunshine and could barely keep its eyes open!
The Fieldfare seemed to expend a great deal of energy in trying to guard the berries from all comers. Whilst it achieved moderate success with odd Blackbirds and Redwings, Waxwings rarely shifted. An example of strength in numbers.

My intended schedule may estimate about 1 month round trip self drive traveling down scenic Southern Island of New Zealand for completing the most captivating landscape photography and wander into the big five, the wilderness of untamed Africa nature for my project 2016 before my physical body stamina eventually drain off.

Monument Valley, Navajo Tribal Park.
A bit different take on a highly photographed, classic southwest shot. The first time we drove through this spot it was so foggy we couldn't see anything at all. When bad weather altered our plans and sent us back through here unexpectedly, I was thrilled to see the clouds lift just enough to show us the monuments. Though blue sky and white puffy clouds would have been beautiful, there was something powerful about seeing these monoliths loom through the clouds over a desolate land. Strength and age amplified, starkly and boldly beautiful.

Her pride took down an elephant the night before and I imagine, that she had a good portion in the hunt.
I'd of preferred a slightly quicker shutter speed but when you've got 15 tons of Elephant crashing towards you, you don't have time to make adjustments!

The Iron Lady is a nickname for the Eiffel Tower - symbolizing strength and elegance... she has definitely dazzled her visitors from around the world since 1889.
It was really a thrill to actually be there and see the Eiffel Tower - I still remember that feeling - I didn't want to leave and took this shot looking through a fence as we were walking back to our b&b.
