Detail of Cathedral Building, Heart of Worcestershire College, Worcester. Designed by architects Richard Sheppard, Robson & Partners. Completed at some point between 1965-73.

Lots of new stuff to show you today. First, there’s the vivid new Spanish-influenced Thea Jacket and Shorts that’s new at GizzA. I thought it would look good with the new Olga body tattoo from Nanika that’s available from today (I think) at ON9. A new Collabor88 usually means something new from Glam Affair and they’ve done appliers for both Lelutka and Catwa heads – this is the Agnes applier for Lelutka. The shape is a new Bento shape from DNA that will be coming soon at Dark Side – I think it’s kinda cute! Hope I’ve given you some ideas!!

The Rising

Bruce Springsteen

[Verse 2]

Left the house this morning

Bells were ringing and filled the air

I was wearing the cross of my calling

On wheels of fire, I come rolling down here

[Chorus]

Come on up for the rising

Come on up, lay your hands in mine

Come on up for the rising

Come on up for the rising tonight

Not everyone has optimal conditions to grow, but the strongest will still survive. This tree can be admired at Mala peč (Small Crag), just near the pond below the waterfall. It's all a bit mysterious place.

In an unknown to many people but conspicuous due to its location church, we usually find peace of mind and tranquility. We communicate our deepest feelings to ourselves and try to nest our prayers and silence as much as we can to look for signs, listen to whispers that reassure us that we are walking the right path.

Better to fight and fall than to live without hope. Volsunga (Viking quotes)

The day I met u I saw strength

and I knew from that point on

that u were pure woman 2 me

possessing a spirit that was strong

I want smiles 2 replace the sorrow

that u have encountered in the past

and since it was strength that attracted me 2 u

it will take strength 2 make it last

My negative side will attempt 2 change u

but please fight that with your all

it will be your strength that keep us both standing

while others around us fall

"The Lord is my strength and my shield;

my heart trusts in him, and he helps me.

My heart leaps for joy,

and with my song I praise him."

- Psalm 28:7

If you look closely at the centre of this pink granite cross, under the lichen that has been growing there for nearly a century, you will see the outline of a shield. I can't tell you if anything was written under that lichen, I was not going to disturb it, but the combination of cross and shield is an intriguing one. There was no stylised Celtic carving on this cross, but the green lichen certainly brought a Celtic Cross to mind. Set against that fiery sunset that was starting to manifest itself, I was reminded of the great protection prayer of St Patrick (The Breastplate or Shield):

"I bind to myself to-day,

The Power of God to guide me,

The Might of God to uphold me,

The Wisdom of God to teach me,

The Eye of God to watch over me,

The Ear of God to hear me,

The Word of God to give me speech,

The Hand of God to protect me,

The Way of God to prevent me,

The Shield of God to shelter me,

The Host of God to defend me..."

And there's plenty more, because Patrick was truly a fearless man:
