Hypholoma fasciculare, commonly known as the sulphur tuft or clustered woodlover - zwavelkopje - , is a common woodland mushroom, often in evidence when hardly any other mushrooms are to be found. This saprotrophic small gill fungus grows prolifically in large clumps on stumps, dead roots or rotting trunks of broadleaved trees.
The "sulphur tuft" is bitter and poisonous; consuming it can cause vomiting, diarrhea and convulsions. The toxins are steroids known as fasciculols and have been shown to be calmodulin inhibitors. (Wikipedia) Meerdaal bos Leuven, Belgium

There is room for contradiction in a human life. For strength and vulnerability, certainty and doubt, innocence and experience. We are seldom entirely one thing or another, however much the world insists on defining us.
And perhaps growing older is simply learning to live peacefully with the many versions of ourselves.
Not everything requires a choice.

For some time there is not so mutch change from year to year.
A strong woman knows she has strength enough for the journey, but a woman of strength knows it is in the journey where she will become strong.
While we were doing our self drive safari in Kruger National Park, I spotted this male leopard at the bottom of a tree. It was incredible to watch how the leopard hauled an impala up the tree in its jaws while climbing.

Pour la première édition, le Comité George V s’est associé à la prestigieuse galerie Bel-Air Fine Art pour organiser une exposition d’œuvres monumentales de quatre artistes contemporains et reconnus de la scène culturelle actuelle : Laurence Jenkell, Carole A.Feuerman, Marcos Marin et la photographe contemporaine Charlotte Mano. L’exposition GV Monumental se tient sur toute l’avenue George V et présente 60 œuvres dites « monumentales » entre 2 et 4 mètres de hauteur. Jusqu’au 14 novembre 2019.

Taken a couple of weeks ago, it’s as we could see the first hint of what was to come. Little did we realise that it would creep up this quickly. Yes I know the talk everywhere is Covid19.
I’ve been rather busy. It’s going to get even busier. Thankfully I can lift my eyes (metaphorically) to hills, there’s a higher strength and so thankful for this.
I suspect that there’ll be days where I won’t even have time to look at your photos dear friends, doesn’t mean to say that I’ll not miss you.

This one is a vibrant and hot pink with a white frill.
The waiting buds only just peeping out.
Summer is slowly leaving us in a flurry of colour.
Named for the shape of their leaves, like blades, gladioli – from the Latin word “gladius,” meaning sword – have a history that spans from Africa to the Mediterranean.
Symbolising strength and moral integrity, gladioli also represent infatuation, with a bouquet conveying to a recipient that they pierce the giver’s heart with passion. How romantic!

Vágar, Faroe Islands - 2024.
A solitary shed stands against the rugged hills of Vágar in the Faroe Islands, surrounded by misty clouds and dramatic cliffs. The stone peak rising from the landscape feels almost mystical, as if it embodies the strength and stillness of this remote place.
