We visited the two neighbouring villages of Lao Chai and Ta Van in the Muong Hoa Valley. The rice terraces gently rise up the sides of the hills and mountains surrounding the villages.
Lao Chai is the home of the Black Hmong whilst Ta Van is the home of the Dzai. These are two of the many minority peoples in north Vietnam.

Mountain Stream found along dirt path exploring around Bear Notch Road of White Mountains National Park New Hampshire
This small stream feeds water to the eastern part of the small village of Sunning hill Jamaica. We were walking up the hills so Mokko could show us where he has another chunk of land he owns..
We've been seeing amazing waterfall shots lately from Jamaica's flickr meet and we can't wait to go back! Just had to dig in our shots from last year and found this shot..
Judging the dimensions of the actual stream is tricky.. is it a small stream or a big river? Since we didn't bring a full tripod meant I had to use my gorillapod for this shot keeping the angles low to the ground.. or was it taken from an overlooking bridge?? I forget lol :)
Through the darkness
I can see your light
And you will always shine
And I can feel your heart in mine
Your face I've memorized
I idolize just you
I look up to
Everything you are
In my eyes you do no wrong
I've loved you for so long
And after all is said and done
You're still you
After all
You're still you
You walk past me
I can feel your pain
T I M E changes EVERYTHING
One truth always stays the same
You're still you
After all
You're still you
I look up to
Everything you are
In my eyes you do no wrong
And I believe in you
Although you never asked me to
I will remember you
And what life put you through
And in this cruel and lonely world
I found one love
You're still you
After all
You're still you

The Big Rocky Run stream in Fairfax County's Ellanor Lawrence Park rapidly flows after a deluge of rain earlier in the week
Taken on a lovely walk in the Neath Valley yesterday - it was so cold that parts of the stream froze

Even though this region only gets a couple millimeters of rain per year, you can still see where the water is concentrating and giving life to a beautiful flora (and fauna!).
From the Glencoe visitors centre follow the blue trail which takes you past some managed woodland eventually leading down to this stream that spills into the River Coe below.
This is a very beautiful and peaceful place to just sit for a while and listen to the water cascading down over the rocks.
Further along the Blue trail you reach Glencoe Village, there are tremendous views of the surrounding mountains all along the trail.
