A gathering of vintage diesel locomotives, held at Goulburn Roundhouse, NSW. After the success of the first event (2016), wars and pestilence, at last it's been possible to hold the long- delayed follow-up.
A famous name in long-distance rail travel: The Capitol Limited.
This was the Baltimore and Ohio Railroad's marquee train, its Washington-to-Chicago run. The Capitol ran for more than 40 years, from the 1920s until Amtrak took over long-distance rail service in 1971.
This piece is from the train's streamliner era, and is part of the collection of the B&O Museum in Baltimore. It's inside now, so perhaps it won't rust too much more.
