Staying in Northumberland with the in laws this weekend and they live within a km of the River Tweed which divides England and Scotland. This is a stream that runs into the Tweed and yes the wild garlic carpeting the ground really is that green!
The smell is amazing as you walk over the garlic and it can be used to make Wild Garlic Pesto or just fried with butter.
"Allium ursinum is widespread across most of Europe. It grows in deciduous woodlands with moist soils, preferring slightly acidic conditions. In the British Isles, colonies are frequently associated with bluebells (Hyacinthoides non-scripta), especially in ancient woodland. It is considered to be an Ancient Woodland Indicator (AWI) species."

Another photograph that I took earlier this summer of the yellow water lilies and reflected light in the Seacourt Stream. Apparently theses lilies are also known as Spatterdock - Not a particularly "floral name" ! Whilst I'm limited for photo opportunities I've been playing with photos in my archives and decided I liked the colours created by the textures added to this image.

I have found that I have been slow in posting to flickr because I feel a touch of guilt for not being active at all on the site. I think I posted this one a full month ago on another site and there are several subsequent shots that I have not uploaded as well.

Jordan Stream in Acadia National Park
Sorry I haven't posted in a while, school started and my new hobby (cycling) is taking up quite a lot of time. My family took a trip to the Trinity Alps and Mt. Shasta where I took what I consider to be my first acceptable landscape photos. There are many with similar compositions to this, I'll post more later.

Closer look at Scotland After all it is a land of fairies. One wants a closer look at what makes it so special, right? :D
I took a couple of photos at this spot along the West Highland Way in 2011, with a wider angle lens, and despite some technical shortcomings really liked them. But due to being convinced it was in a slightly different area about a mile further east, I could never relocate the exact spot.
Ten years later - almost to the day - I finally found it again, completely by chance. However, I think the wider angle did it more justice so I must give it another go next time I have the opportunity.
Stream on the way to Bridal Falls east of Chilliwack BC Canada. The Fraser River Valley is truly one of the most picturesque areas of beautiful British Columbia, and for those travelling the Trans-Canada Highway through the Fraser Valley, a popular attraction near Bridal Falls is Bridal Veil Falls. The beautiful falls in Bridal Falls Provincial Park drop over 400 feet to the valley floor, flowing into Bridal Creek and under the highway to Cheam Lake Wetlands.
