Near Grandfather Mountain

The impressions caught my eye while flying over this. In post processing, I noticed how the near mountain made a very nice leading line which parallels the impressions. The open valley seems other worldly. The sunrise orange made the sand and rocks a golden color. Some of the dunes took on a more reddish hue which will be posted in upcoming images.

While in Kwessi Dunes we did aerial photography of Sossusvlei from doorless helicopters; another incredible thrill. I've never had a more productive 60 minutes with a camera.

One from spring to cheer you up.

Please enjoy,

Tomas

Don't worry. I stayed dry in the 4x4 truck though I did have some thoughts that we may get stuck in the middle.

Natures tears, see them fly

Out from the depths of the hidden eye

See them ride the waves and flow

Along the stream, watch them go

Swimming the waters and stones that lie

Deep in the depths of the hidden eye

I was really taken by this Oak tree on the banks of Buttermere, and as a matter of fact the whole lake was transformed when for a brief moment the sun came out early in the day.

The track of an inchoate stream is unmistakable. Rushing water cuts scallops, dips and meanders as it runs over surface of sandstone. A much larger stream is to the right; they have a confluence lower and to the right. These drain into the canyon created by Keg Spring.

My appreciation and thanks to all of you for your comments awards and faves.

We came to this little stream on a hike in Benzie County.

Mary and I had hiked to the top of Multnomah Falls, the tallest waterfall in the state of Oregon. It's a popular spot - paved trail - lots of people. But when we reached the top we hiked a short way down river in the opposite direction of the crowds. I still think it's funny how many people don't do that smile emoticon ... As for me - I always choose the quiet direction
