Police Say Nearly 250 Arrested In Minnesota Pipeline Protest
Nearly 250 people were arrested when protesters attempting to stop the final leg of the reconstruction of an oil pipeline across northwestern Minnesota took over a pump station, law enforcement officials said Wednesday.
Hubbard County Sheriff Cory Aukes said that 43 workers at the Enbridge Energy Line 3 pump station were trapped inside the site for some time Monday morning when demonstrators locked them in behind the front gate. Protesters also put up barricades and dug trenches across roads, “presumably in preparation" for a standoff with law enforcement, Aukes said.

Defund Line 3 - Global Day of Action
San Francisco
May 7, 2021
A beautiful creative action in San Francisco to demand that financial institutions stop funding the destruction of the planet and our future. This was part of a Global Day of Action to Stop Line 3 oil pipeline.
From the organizers:
"For years, Indigenous communities and allies have been opposing the construction of the Line 3 pipeline, which would transport nearly one million barrels of dirty tar sands oil - every single day. Enbridge Energy, the company building the pipeline, has a terrible environmental track record, and this pipeline would violate several treaties with indigenous communities.
Indigenous-led water protectors and allies in Minnesota are taking action every day to stop the construction of Enbridge's Line 3 pipeline - confronting bulldozers, decision-makers, and the politicians that are putting profit before people. Pipelines take billions of dollars to build - and banks like JP Morgan Chase, Wells Fargo, Citibank, Bank of America, TD Ameritrade, Union Bank - as well as insurers like Liberty Mutual - are bankrolling Line 3."
Event organized and endorsed by: Oil and Gas Action Network | Extinction Rebellion SF Bay | Diablo Rising Tide | East Point Peace Academy | Silicon Valley Climate Action Now | Fossil Free California | 350 Bay Area | 1000 Grandmothers for Future Generations | Idle No More SF Bay | Code Pink SF Bay Area | Women’s Earth and Climate Action Network (WECAN) International

Youth activists from Fridays For Future NYC, along with Peoples Climate Movement NY and many allied climate advocacy groups gathered at City Hall Park on September 24, 2021 for a march to Battery Park. Youth in New York City and across the globe led strikes as part of climate week, demanding urgent action on the climate crisis and calling on us all to #UprootTheSystem which has allowed imperialism, colonialism, racism and other systemic injustices to harm people around the world and dangerously warm the planet.
