A motorist is heeding the rules at railroad crossings as MRL 355 whizzes by with the Bozeman Turn on the east side of Livingston. The train will head into the yard here to receive a rear helper set for the climb up Bozeman Pass.

Win or lose,The answer, my friend, is blowin' in the wind,

The answer is blowin' in the wind.

This is an abandoned passenger train. It appears to have been parked where it is now for a very long time, but you can still see how beautiful it once was, with a little imagination. Thanks for stopping by. All comments are appreciated.

The Crescent stops in Birmingham at an unusual time last night, around 8pm, going on 6 hours late, after Amtrak 19 who was 10 hours late the day before, came into New Orleans late causing a late turn around & more delays. Amtrak 20 pulled into Bham for about 15 mins before continuing east, cool to see it at night for a change.

Completing today's trio of tube photos, a train arriving at Bank station. See those bendy rails? Now you know why the trains rattle so much...!

Tied onto the AZER inbound the 5 pack of FMI's GP38's from the first train charge the steep hill bound for the mill in Morneci. There is no easing into this hill, it goes from a rather flat yard/interchange with the AZER right into the steep 5 plus percent grade.

Stop sign on Glen Orchy Station

Well…I don’t mind a bit of rain but the torrential downpour last Sunday certainly took the edge off my photowalk.

As a result I ended up in the old Silk Mill Industrial Museum, now refurbished and renamed to the Museum of Making…yes, very 21st century.

Anyways, a lack of inspiration as well as a surfeit of riotous kids saw me taking a shot in exasperation … ye olde railway signal with gels for go and stop.

Stop and stare at the beauty in the simplest things around you!

Have a nice day~

Number 365 of my 366. A cold foggy day on Hayling beach.

This westbound Milwaukee freight has rolled to a stop near Grand Crossing as a westbound BN has the diamond blocked while they do a head end crew change on September 22, 1979. The 2060, 2058, 1003 and 2065 have 54 cars in tow and when the BN clears they will resume there trip west. Why I didn't chase this job up the west bank is beyond me.

The first of the Isles of Scilly Steamship Company's two new ships MENAWETHAN makes her debut at Penzance just after 08:45 on the completion of her delivery voyage from Vietnam via Brittany on June 18, 2025.

She is due to replace the GRY MARITHA as the company's freight ship - but will also be able to carry some passengers in much better style than the limited accommodation on the GRY MARITHA.

The MENAWETHAN is a purpose-built 45-metre ship built at the Piriou Shipyard in Vietnam, she successfully arrived in Penzance, Cornwall, after an impressive 8,000-mile delivery voyage via the Cape of Good Hope. She serves as the vital lifeline link connecting the mainland to the islands. She is named after one of the uninhabited Eastern Isles of the Isles of Scilly.

Key Features and Capacity

•Cargo Space: The 45 m ship boasts a 207-tonne cargo capacity.

•Refrigeration: Includes 20% more space for chilled and frozen perishable goods, vastly improving supply transfer reliability.

•Passenger Facilities: Features a dedicated lounge that can comfortably accommodate up to 12 passengers year-round.

•Equipment: Equipped with a 60-tonne/12-tonne heavy-lift deck crane and a MacGregor side door for efficient loading and unloading.

Construction and Delivery

•Construction: The build officially commenced in Vietnam in June 2024.

•Launch: Floated out of the shipyard and launched in October/November 2025.

•Voyage Home: The 8,000 mile landmark delivery journey took approximately two months, featuring logistical stops in Mauritius, Namibia, and Brittany before arriving in the UK.

If you'd asked me yesterday how many sides a stop sign had, I wouldn't have been able to tell you. But I found myself looking at the photo and counting them. (It's an octagon.) That is what things have come to.

Chinese New Year! In my photographs so far there hasn't been much of an indication of the time of year. Down at the waterfront you couldn't miss it.

Unfortunately, it being the New Year meant that things were shut or otherwise different from normal. Typically the famous Clock Tower at the Kowloon waterfront is lit at night. Not this time...

Another thing you're missing: Right behind us was a small crowd watching the rehearsals for the New Year Parade. I imagine it looked a bit weird; one tourist looking the opposite way entirely.

Hong Kong! Again! After the first time not working out so well (mostly due to my condition) me and my best friend Michael returned to do the bits we missed out on and generally have a few different experiences than before.
