Day 38 of 365 - Stop

Yes, the traffic in Wilmington is pretty crazy - if you don't believe me, I took a picture as evidence. I bought two filters yesterday and "stole" a couple of my father's (really, really) old ones. For this photo, I used the UV and ND filters I purchased.

I have seen these flowers before, but never stopped to look at them. They really are pretty. I think a lot of people just drive past them every day and don't actually see them. Today I decided to stop and check them out. They are at the 1898 Race Riot Memorial on N. 3rd St. (where the MLK meets 3rd).

Today I had a meeting with my manager about a few things that have been bugging me recently. I feel better now that I've gotten them off my chest...so I guess I can stop worrying.

I didn't feel like this needed much editing (though I thought about using a different photo and editing out that big black pole on the left). So, I just did a little levels adjustment!

“Think about a song with the word "stop" in its title and photograph how it speaks to you.” ~ Kris

I love music and enjoy all kinds of genres. I appreciate how an old hit song from high school can evoke strong memories, and how classical music can soothe me when I feel overwhelmed. Like Kris, my choice is “Don’t Stop Believin’” by Journey, released in 1981. This song is about maintaining hope and perseverance in the face of life’s challenges; it is both uplifting and relatable. Today’s photo suggests that this is not the end of the line; you can choose to turn right or left, or even explore down the dead-end road.

The world is a dangerous place, not because of those who do evil, but because of those who look on and do nothing. ~ Albert Einstein

Day 131 [5-10-2016]

Gigantic antique fair! For work today, I accompanied my dad on a day trip to one of the largest antique fairs in the world in Brimfield, Massachusetts. When he told me that this antique fair was big, he sure wasn't kidding. We walked for a full five hours and only saw one quarter of the open fair while a whole bunch of other sections weren't even open yet. Sadly I didn't have any money on me so I wasn't able to buy anything for myself. I am planning on heading back on Sunday when the antique fair is fully opened with money in my pocket and friends to accompany me.

Can't wait to see what the next day brings!
