Just trying my hand at stop animation. It took me about an hour from start to finish, I thought it turned out alright for my first try.
I used a Nikon D80 and a Nikkor 18-70mm lense. I just used Microsoft Movie maker to compile the video. If I get more into it maybe I'll invest in better software.

HDR of an old Truck Stop near Mojave Desert, California. Please provide any/all constructive criticisms possible as this is a new and different approach for me. Hopefully its interesting to someone!
Camp Shanks was a United States Army installation in and around the Town of Orangetown, New York. Situated near the juncture of the Erie Railroad, the Hudson River, and the old Erie Piermont Pier. The camp served as a point of embarkation for troops departing overseas during World War II. Dubbed “Last Stop USA,” the camp housed about 50,000 troops spread over 2,020 acres (2 1/2 miles long by 1 mile wide). It was the largest World War II Army embarkation camp, processing 1.3 million service personnel including 75% of those participating in the D-Day invasion.
If you had a family member that served during the war in Europe, there is very very good chance they passed through this camp and onto the Peirmont Pier, where waiting troop ships took them overseas. There is an equally good chance they returned the same way.
This memorial park was at the approximate center of the camp, which today there are no traces of. The area is a quiet residential area of single family homes.
The memorial reads: "This memorial erected in dedication to the millions of men and women who passed through this port of embarkation, the last stop USA. January 1942 - July 1946"
Over the next few days I will present a series of photos of the memorials erected along the short route from Camp Shanks to the tip of Piermont Pier.

I stopped by Harra Covered Bridge near watertown Ohio this past Tuesday 29 Oct, 2019. I was hoping to get a few photos of the Bridge framed in Autumn colors. There were not as many colorful leaves and trees as I had hoped for but there were some. Here are a few pics of this beautiful old bridge with a splash of late Oct. 2019 color.
Harra Bridge was built in 1878 by Rolla Marydith, and spans the south branch of Wolf Creek on TR172 also known as Camp Hervida Road near Watertown Ohio.

I haven't taken my camera to the city for ages. It has been on my desk reminding me everyday - "take me with you"...
I finally decide to take it out on Tuesday 13th Aug. I also take my lunch late - this way I get better light. I walked out about 10 to 3.
Outside mayhem - lights, emergency vehicles everywhere...police running every which way... I turn on my camera and start getting it ready for some street photography...the trusty X100 does not start .... what!!! - I did charge the battery...so played more...add /remove battery and after a few tries it starts up.
I am not one to stand in a crowd and wait....so I just wondered around getting re-acquainted with my camera.
Still police cars blocking roads, fire engines and ambos everywhere... I stop at Wynyard park and notice the police cordon off an area just below the park. As it turns out this was all part of this operation: www.smh.com.au/topic/clarence-street-attack-1n4u
More amazing was that while taking this picture I hear the police interview witnesses and watch witness footage...today everyone has a video camera...before I got back from lunch you could watch mobile footage of the whole incident.
