This is my "traffic light" series, which took forever to shoot- these are just a few from shooting about five different people all at different times on different nights, depending on the kind of traffic I was looking for..

*to clarify, this isn't me- it's my sexadocious roommate, whom I shoot quite often. :]
another stop motion-esque (?) video

the created void - underoath
When I opened this image in Lightroom tonight and saw the shoot date–30th April 2016–I was thinking about how long ago that was. Then I thought some more and smiled at the realisation that seeing the Milky Way rising in the east again in this way will happen in about four months’ time. Yippee!
Shooting at a dark skies location means a couple of hours driving from home, checking Milky Way alignment and access to the spot, then setting up gear, taking test shots, checking alignment again, getting the foreground lighting right, then taking some production shots, checking again, etc, etc. Some or all of those actions get repeated multiple times through the night before driving home. That’s why it’s important to stop for a bit and look at what amazing things are above me; listen to the ambient sounds like the ocean and local wildlife; and enjoy the beauty of the moment.
Mars is the bright and orange point of light at top left and Saturn is below that, on a line pointing towards me. Captured 30/04/16 at Seven Mile Beach near Gerroa, Australia. Canon EOS 6D, Rokinon 24mm @ f/2.8, 15 sec @ ISO 3200.
STOP
I won’t be manipulated, mind-controlled and inundated,
I will seek the revelation, make my life a celebration.
I’m gonna be the change I’m seeking, manifest the words I’m speaking
I refuse to be imprisoned I will make my own decisions
